Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| If this bloke was called John Jones from Thatto Heath he would still be reffing over the park.
Countless times St George were a mile offside and he let them off, he went as far as stepping forward to play them onside in the second half. Plus the countless times he never had a clue what was goin on e.g. Sam getting cleaned out infront if him and only blowing up when someone had a word in his ear piece, the mans a joke. St George were too good and didn't need any favours.

| He was rubbish for both teams, I agree with you that if he was from thatto heath he would be reffing on the parks. Another of RFL's failed attempts to expand the game.

You mean the water carrier in the blue top? On more than any of the players, thought they banned that years ago?

Yep, for long periods they also had another water carrier on too.
The St.George players couldn't of been that thirsty.

| That was the best I've ever seen Halibut ref. He did a good job, except in the second half he favoured you.

I have to respectfully disagree. He didn't favour anyone.
On two consecutive sets of 6 in the seconf half (one for each team), he called the last tackle as the 4th and had to be told by the 4th official that it was in fact the 5th.
On SGI's set, he quickly corrected himself as they were playing the ball, but on ours, he didn't correct until we had already passed it and we ended up throwing the ball around before he was finally able to shout "last" to someone who could hear him.
At one point, he apologised to the SGI team as he asked them to please not move offside at the PTB. ASKED them FFS.
He was not the reason we lost tonight, not by a long way. In fact, he was garbage for both teams. But come on - How can this muppet still be hanging around SL, stinking the place out everywhere he goes?
Time to get shut NOW.

Rubbish. He had no idea about standing square at the PTB and had any other SL ref been in charge the Dragons would have had shed load of penalties against them for that. The number of penalties they did concede for professional fouls would have led to a sin binning in any SL game. One day the RFL will realise it's about time they stopped pandering to the Aussies and instead of appointing a sub-standard ref like this chap just because he's neural they should appoint someone who has a clue.

| Why was the sgi fullback sin binned. I thought a professional foul was a yellow card offense?
Oh and that "watercarrier" was a joke. He was practically in their attacking line!!

If you mean why WASN'T the SGI player binned, I asked the same question at the time.
Oh, and FYI - That call didn't come from Thierry. He asked the VR to look at it for him, but when the decision was readout to him (Penalty attack on the 22m line), he started to explain to the SGI player(s) that they should "watch the screen" as that was how the call had been made.
At which point, the VR had to tell him that he should NOT be telling them that the call came from the screen, and should "pretend" that he had made the call himself.
Like I said before - He's f***ing useless - Get rid of this failed experiment.
