| According to Super League Website And SSN both Lolesi & Failogo (sp) are to be "Rested" this weekend.
Now I know Lolesi picked up a knock at the weekend but if if he is in theory "Fit" To play and Failogo is Rested surely that's a big risk considering they are already without Wild/Lunt/B.Hodgson & 1 other (Cant remember who!).
"IF" and I know it's a Big "IF" Brown does decide to rest these 2 I think it will honestly help our cause immensely (Especially Failogo who has been a Great Buy and causes defences all kinds of Problems!) and I for one would be Happy with that given our own Mini Injury crisis.
Question is though!
Why? Is it worth risking 2 points here for the sake of "Resting" a player who may or may not be Fit/Available come the end of the season anyway and possibly end up a place or two lower down the ladder to have a "Fresher" squad come Business end of season?
Opinions?

| Brave call.
I'm just glad he won't get fined for doing it.

| Surely mind games??
I can't see why Brown would rest players for the game agianst the top of the table, unless he thought he had no chance with a full squad ala Mick Mcarthy. Its a wierd one if he does rest players, if he beats us he gains two points on us and closes in on the top of the table!!

| Perhaps there looking to the Warrington game in the CC..
There a good enough team to finish in a play-off place at the end of the season anyway and could possibly see the Challenge cup as a major chance of silverware..
But if its true and they do rest players, its a big call

| must be for the CC game the week after, i think Brown really wants that one this year
His plan might be to rest those players who are carrying a niggling injury, and plan to put on a big performance against us at the galpharm
Could be wrong though!

Squad rotation is the key.
www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague ... tlead.html
Quotes from Nathan Brown:
"Just as we want to do well in this game, we've obviously got Warrington the week after in the Challenge Cup as well."
"You want all your best players on the field for all your games, especially when you're playing the side coming first, but it's a long race and you want to try and be in it for as long as you can.
"Sometimes not playing some blokes is in the best interests long term. It's not always about the short term."
A sensible approach considering the tough Easter schedule and next few weeks.
Perhaps the only criticism I have of Maguire is missing the chance to rotate against Sheffield.

Same, I think a lot more fresh entusiastic legs of the younger ones would have put Sheffield to the sword. The team has not been the same since the wakey game, mainly because of Roberts and some tiredness.

| I now it's always said but it's a marathon and not a sprint.
Resting players or having a good squad rotation policy is key in this comp.
I very much doubt any player could play every single round of SL without suffering a loss of form or some sort of niggling injury.
As much as I’d like to come top of the pile I’d still prefer to slacken off and come 2nd but know I’ve got a fresh squad and young players with SL experience to fill in any injury gaps come playoff time.
I honestly think our current injury crisis will help us in the long run. We know what the squad can do when fully fit and touch wood we won’t get any long term season injuries so we can be quietly confident knowing our players although injured aren’t going through the pain of a tough SL game every week. Rehab might be hard but I’m sure it doesn’t compare to in some of the stuff players go through in matches.
I’m sure they will be fit and refreshed when they come back and it will allow them to play at a higher intensity for that little bit longer.

| Squad rotation is key, if thats what it is. I mean we've been doing it. The cup is probably more important to them at this stage of the year considering who they play next week. Clearly a much tougher task than Widnes is for us.

| I would be happy with beating Huddersfield sunday and Widnes the week after but losing at the Galpharm to Huddersfield. Im sure Huddersfield would take losing to us on Sunday but beating Wire in the cup and us at the Galpharm the week after. It wouldnt suprise me one bit if thats how it pans out as well

| Its just like what the catalan chairman/CEO has been saying that he is targeting the CC as the play offs are out of reach at this half way stage of the season.

| Probably a smart move to be fair, a CC win v Warrington would be much better for them than 2 points v us.

Well I've just about to finish a match preview that argues very strongly against that. Will be on site shortly.
