The Sheffield Eagles that beat us at Wembley is now, technically, part of Huddersfield Giants. This is a 'new' Sheffield Eagles, created from scratch after the 'merger'.
But why let that get in the way of a bit of nostalgia, eh?

The Guardian are really miking that story. they have had about 3 articles on it over the last week.
Mind you Eddie Hemmings has had about two months out of the Bradford result and he is showing no signs of letting up.

He was never known by that name though. It was always the shortened version, Tony.
I've never heard anyone call him Anthony Mestrov.
Even on the Sky Sports team sheets he used to appear as Tony.

I've always it found it difficult to believe. Though I was assured that Wigan had done this once before, in the Regal Trophy Final against Cas in 1994 (?).
But who knows what goes on in the heads of some players. |
