| Accept our apologies for the incidents/alleged attacks near the Kings Head/Central Station that I read about on this board. Unfortunately, we have attracted some scum, I have no time for them at all and I would urge people to make these incidents known to Andy Gatcliffe the Chief Exec at Wire.
I met up with my Wigan mates after the game and had a few beers and some good banter. That's what the game's about, these empty heads don't seem to understand that.
Congrats on your win and please don't believe that all Wire fans are like these clowns.

| Any genuine and honest fan on here will agree. Those who don't belong with the mindless idiots who have unfortunately brought shame to your doorstep.

| I think the majority on here recognise that the idiots last night are not representative of all Wire fans.
Thank you for your comments.
I hope the culprit is caught and dealt with severely ( but I cant see it)
I certainly will not take my wife or 12 year old to HJ in future.
If you would like to give the email details of your Chief Exec I am sure quite a few on here would like to write about the incidents last night inside and outside the ground.

Good post, great advert for the game inside the ground, great shame about the incidents outside, hope everyone recovers ok, I come in by car parking at DHL,no problems before and after and I must say found the stewards friendly at the turnstile and inside the ground, they even allowed us plenty of time for our celebrations in the ground after the game, went on a bit longer than Murrayfield I think.

Good post mate, and just ignore the people who try and label Wire fans as scum in general, it's a small minority of people in any club like that. I'd just really like to see the police get a proper handle on these sorts of situations so that good clubs with good fans don't suffer because of some idiots.
Much respect to your team last night, they're going to be damn hard to beat this season.

| I am sure, well I know, most Wire fans are like you. Unfortunatley success (like your CC win) attracts mindless idiots who just jump on the bandwagon and cannot take a loss with so much expectation like you have this season.
I have nothing but good to say about my visits to the HJ.

| I've only just read about these incidents on the other thread for the first time and i'm totally stunned.
I said in the week i'd never had any bother at Warrington or any other superleague ground for that matter but I feel for the people who have. This isn't good for rugby league in general let alone Warrington because even if these morons didn't attend the game people will presume they have.
I really hope the police can find the culprits and the Warrington club can work in with the local authorities to try and sort something out for future fixtures. As a follower of football i've been used to being part of police escorts back to train stations after matches and maybe thats something that needs to be looked at especially for this fixture.
It's sad that we even have to talk about something like that but it would solve alot of problems straight away.
In terms of anybody who was directly effected last night I really hope they're ok and it won't put them off attending future games because these morons don't deserve to stop people doing what they love.
Ar*eholes.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| There was one fan who for the entire half time was on his phone bladdered in the corner of the south stand giving all us Wigan fans the fingers whilst dancing like a spanner with his mate with a crap red tracky top on, this fan was also trying to teach a few young (8 or 9 yr old) lads to stick the fingers up to the Wigan fans.
Absolute plank!

| I have just read what happened on the other thread....And i am appalled, sickened and also embarrassed by the actions of these idiots who come out of the woodwork time and time again for these big games...These clowns probably spend all day on the Pi$$ and the game is an excuse for them to start throwing their hands around...
I don't post on here usually..As its not nice to be called scum by some members on this board (Odemwingie yes you again) we are not the scum of rugby league and that is an insult to me who has never been involved with trouble what so ever and if i knew anyone who was i would shop them without hesitation...!
But all i can say is sorry...Me and my Wire mates had a great laugh and sing song with you Pie eaters in the Rodney pre match with no bother so we're not all bad...
But i can understand why people would not want to attend in future as many take children along to the game..I have actually swerved going to Hull F.C. the last couple of seasons because of a few unsavoury incidents the worse one actually at the HJ where a minority of Hull fans attacked Wire fans at random coming out of the stadium...But this doesn't make all Hull fans scum...
Once again sorry and i hope these thugs are caught and dealt with severely....

| Good post MW.
Living as an exiled Cherry n White, out in the Cheshire countryside, i get plenty of stick from local Wire fans in the area.
But its always good natured, and i give as much banter back as i get.
Never had any bother either at Wilderspool or the HJ. And i would NEVER hide my shirt from anyone!!!
We are all RL Fans after all, and (as outdated as it may seem) i still think thats the most important thing.
Its just a fact of life that if you put any large crowd of people together in one place, add the tension that the game brought, and a bit of booze bravado to those that cant handle it...And there's likely to be trouble in some form.
I remember the few dozen p*ssed-up Workington fans that came to CP (RIP) in '95 or '96, and caused chaos before getting hoofed out!
Probably the worst thing i've ever seen at an RL game. But still nothing compared to other sports.
I dont think avoiding future HJ fixtures helps one bit. Neither does tarnishing all Warrington fans as 'scum'. 99.999% are just genuine RL fans, exactly as we are.
We have a few idiots too, lets not forget.
The important thing is to not let these morons win, by staying away.
Nor would i ever want to see the same sort of Police-controlled segregation that happens at football matches.
Now that WOULD put me off for life!

Good post.
I agree whole totally with the sentiments of not letting the morons win by staying away from games.
I wouldn't want segregation either within the ground but there should be a police presence around the stadium for a game like this and a police escort for Wigan fans back to the train station would be good imo. All that would need would be a couple of officers just to make sure incidents like last night don't happen again.

| I haven't read the other thread but I am sickened from what I have heard, shocked.
I hope they get what's coming to them and NEVER get access to a Warrington Wolves game again.
Just wanted to make a point about stewarding, pre game waiting to get in there was some Wire fans, absolute drunken pi11ocks giving abuse to people walking past, kids, older folk and this bloke (they were in their 40s FFS!) took a kick at a Wigan lad (about 14 i'd say) as he went past on his own. There was an eldery woman stood in front of them with her grandson very shocked.
What did the stewards do?? they stood and watched and still allowed him access to the ground. He should have been told, you've had too much to drink, get lost. Under NO way should he have been allowed entry to the ground and I'm going to be making my opinion known to WWRLFC on monday.
Again, we're very sorry people had such a dreadful time visiting the town, there's scum at every club, lets get them kicked out.
On the other hand at the Crusaders game today the police presence was huge, very suprised and there wasn't any trouble

My mate is an everton fan so I went to the latics game with him. There was some drunken everton fans who were stopped at the red robin, before they even had chance to get into the ground. Better policing is needed. We don't need people on horses or batons, just numbers in yellow jackets.

| All clubs do have a minority of idiots who want to cause trouble including ours, but after last night it's good to see Warrington supporters actually admitting that they do have more idiots than your average club and that they want to do something about it. I'm sure the top people at Warrington will have heard about these problems and will want to nip them in the bud as I'm sure they won't want the HJ to have the same reputation as Wilderspool had.
Last night was an awesome derby enjoyed by two sets of good, passionate supporters. It's just a shame that it was let down slightly by a bunch of trouble makers and I feel sorry for the decent folk of Warrington particularily on these boards who have come across as genuinally sorry and embaressed & it's a shame they have to share the terraces with these set of numpties.
I remember threads before the game being classed as OTT when it came to worrying about crowd trouble and pondering whether to go or take family because of the risk of violence or abuse...Well it shows they were right and it needs addressing, pronto.
