| Quote: jinkin jimmy "Indeed. However, why would anyone turn their back on RU when it is in a different universe in terms of exposure and earnings potential? We need to acknowledge that, irrespective of what you like watching on the field, we are microscopic compared to RU.
Farrell could return and be a big fish in our little pond but if he has a chance to continue swimming with the big boys don't be surprised if he takes it.'" I wouldn't say its quite that black and white!

| While his earning potential long term may be greater in Union, i think short term he cold command more at Wigan, given the nature of his service and the respect he commands.
He has been offered a coching role at Sarricens apparently which i am sure he will take (makes you wonder if they have had the foresite to offer him this deal in order to retain Owen), but it will be a junior coaching position, it will not be as a headcoach straight from the off.
While the earnings at the top of the game are greater in union given the Farrell legend i am sure he would walk into an assistants role at Wigan and in the short term at least command a better sallary than he could as a junior coach at Sarries. Union is not on a domestic level a cash rich sport, they cannot throw money at individuals who are not at the top of there discipline.
P.S. UK Dave, why did you not just ask him you were stood next to him, or are those pictures a fake, did you simply sneak into a preview unvieling of the KC statue?

Quite so, Jonh, but the RU ladder has many more rungs on it. We're talking potential knighthoods here!
