| Even as far into tonight's contest as half-time, the Sky Sports presenters seemed to be watching a different game.
I appreciate that they have to talk things up, and that they probably desperately hoped those two teams would have been more evenly matched, but there are times when I wish they'd just commentate on what's in front of them.

| Sky have lost interest in RL. On todays Sky Sports splash page there is no mention of last nights match. Loads of other sports and a piece on women's RU but not a jot about RL.

| The problem is that it's not even thinly veiled, this wishful thinking that all teams are equal.
At half-time, they were still forecasting a Leigh victory when it was plain to everyone that if it hadn't been for Wigan's self-inflicted errors and missed conversions, they'd have been much farther ahead. Only JJB seemed to be calling it how it was.

So how do think he sounds to any Southerners who might be watching? RL is so poorly served by TV, although clearly C4 has been a big improvement.

| Haven't watched the video playback of yesterday yet, but from what I've been told, the Sky Sports team were again at a different match.

Put off watching again by Wilkin being involved he takes bias to a new level. Sts v Giants, Giant's behind by a score trout pulled up at marker “what’s he doing what benefit is there from that” a few minutes later still a score in the game Sironen gets penalised for a ball strip in Sts half “ a calculated play by Sironen”. Clarke gets slated for some of is ridiculous comments and should do. The current commentary offers little, Wells and Carney carry the show.

| Both yesterday's game and the Good Friday game were commentated on as though they were purely for consumption by Wire and Saints fans respectively. A bit like the old Micron videos in the 80s, when each club had their own guy on the mic.
The big story yesterday was an understrength Catalan's near-miss against the best team in the competition, but you wouldn't have picked that up from the commentary. On GF it was the Jon Wilkin Getting Surlier And Surlier show.
I don't know what the British has done to have such TV coverage inflicted on it,

Wilkin is bloody awful at commentary. He thinks he's some kind of rugby league philosopher but in reality talks a load of rubbish.
I was really impressed with Catalan, they were very unlucky. They controlled the ruck against our big pack and attacked really well with their backs being extremely effective too.

They were the first team who’ve dealt comfortably with Paul Vaughan and to do that with such a weakened team really is a huge tick for them going forward. It’s so pleasing to see so many French players involved. It’s something that should always have been the case and realistically that number will drop when the overseas players are fit but the confidence the young French lads will get from these games is huge.
Speaking of Vaughan, could he be one of the players carrying a knock that Powell mentioned post game? His minutes seemed to be limited yesterday and after a freakish start to the season, he ran for less than 50 metres. Hoping he is fit for Friday because it’s a great test for our younger forwards like Byrne, Havard and Smithies to play against a player of that calibre.
