These are the two names on the horizon to replace Sam Tomkins at Wigan.

Problem with Bowen is the reliability of his knees.

Problem with Locke is that NZ Warriors do not want to release him.

Kevin Locke is like the weather in England, some bright moments usually just dull. Matt Bowen is best suited for Wigans agenda as he can come in and help mentor Hampshire and Tierny and fill the gap that will be missing when Sam leaves.

Don't Wigan have any young home grown talent to come in and replace Tomkins?

MB may well be a done deal for us.
This will be part of the good news bit when the "Announcement" is made about Sam T leaving. Bowen will be intro'd as Sam's replacement with one or two re-signings named like Crosby and Hansen.
There could also be signings of players like Tom Briscoe maybe or Sarginson.
All this news management in the hope of placating Wigan fans that Sam is leaving before the 3 guaranteed years year we were told he'd be here.
This must be the worst "news management" item in RL history.
We are losing a once in a generation player by the club allowing him to depart early from a five year deal.
They then try and News Manage it! Laughable, it really is!

I've heard world class used lightly before but that takes the biscuit. Josh Charnley isn't even a world class winger!

Hopefully the Matt Bowen rumour is true, with him we can ease Hampshire/Tierney into the spot for when he is ready to leave. Whilst they've never let us down in the games they have played, they are not ready for a full season in super league with the pressure of replacing Sam Tomkins. Bowen would be an excellent signing ala Hodgson when he signed for Huddersfield.
