It was in case Wigan Athletic progressed in the FA Cup to the round being played this weekend - but it was never likely to happen.

Does it really matter that much?
Would you have rather that in the slim chance Latics did get a home cup tie we'd have to move our game?

| For those of us who have to travel a fair distance to get to a game ( almost a 100 mile round trip for me and my daughter) a 3.00 pm Sunday kick off is far better than 8.00 pm Friday when you are travelling on the motorway in the evening rush hour traffic.
I know the atmosphere can be a bit less exciting for Sunday afternoon games, but there are advantages for some - it's always nice to make a day of it on Sunday rather than rushing to a game after work and then drive straight back, which still results in a late (after 11.30 pm) return.
This is what we'll be doing on 25th against Warrington - no doubt a fantastic atmosphere and if we win, it will make the drive home all the sweeter and both of us feeling less cream crackered. I do sometimes wish I still lived closer to Wigan.....

| I've always thought the games (home and away) against the likes of Hull and HKR should be played on Sunday as it is much easier for the away fans to travel.
I would actually say the same about all the Yorkshire games.

It can actually be very nice - catching up with family and friends........ used to go back to mum and dad's for tea etc! Now it's a good chance to see my brother and his family.
Can't say I've ever spent a day in Hull. Was just happy after the game to see my car still there and undamaged!

Nothing wrong with Hull. No worse than other cities in this country. It gets far too much bad press - probably because it's so out of the way (you're either going to Hull or you drive about 70 miles outside it).

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

I see what your saying but i think the Friday night games have a much better feel to them, such a better atmosphere even though HKR and Hull have to travel a bit, when playing the Hull teams it seems to be friendlier than say the likes of them lot from Wire and leeds - Fact

| We used to play on sunday afternoons (at CP) which produced good atmospheres so dont know why we cant shout/sing on a sunday beacuse friday doesnt give people much time have a drink after work where as sunday is alot better for that
