| I wouldn't say Yes, but I also wouldn't say No.
We have such a good pack on form at the moment that any one of them could be rested and the pack will be no different. They play as a team now, rather than relying on the odd 1 or 2 (i.e. Hock) to do most of the work.

| i say yes , along with tommy
they are settled as a unit now , and when 1 or 2 are missing they are missed
we where very scratchy at times today , although this could be down to fatigue

| Thought we missed Tommy most.
We looked lost at times with Sam and it seemed no-one else in the half backs.

| No.
We won the game when running on empty which we would have won much easier had we targeted Tyrer more than we did, instead of playing far too much towards their left hand side which was pretty solid. Goulding got some awful ball today and we kept going that way when it was obvious Talau and Gibson were playing well defensively and had their sliding defence spot on.

Agree with that Andy.
We were saying that Talau and whoever else it was had Goulding in their pockets this afternoon.

| I dont think we missed him tbh. Our forwards still played well and layed the platform and got us into some good positions, we just failed to score most of the time. IMO we missed Roberts the most. Phelps impressed me earlier on in the season and i thoguht we would be ok with him but he had a bad game today, but it was his first game back so will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Agreed. The pack did fine - we were making easy yards in attack and not conceding anything (except penalties!) in defence.

Yes we did miss him today. Fieldens workrate and tackling is missed and undervalued by some people. His whole game is massively improved this year and even in previous seasons his defence has never been in question for me.
It would of been better to see him play today but probably in Madges eyes needed a rest. Today again he would of got through alot of work and stopped Phil Leuluai offloading for fun in the second half.

| This is getting very boring now. Riddell, Roberts and now Fielden.
We missed Amos Roberts and Thomas Leuluai today. Our attack was quite slow compared to the Wakefield game. Cameron Phelps was all at sea today IMO. Gave some awful balls to Darrell Goulding and was in the wrong place a lot in attack. Put his hand up a few times accepting that he was out of place. A bit rusty, but I will cut him some slack because he has missed a few games.

| I thought Phelps was trying too hard.
It was right to rest Fielden. Salford played better than I expected, they tackled well and it was two exceptional tries by Pat that sank them.
Over all, no I don't think we missed Fielden insomuch that we coped. He is playing well now and seems to have had a new lease of life under Madge.

I fully agree.
It’s getting beyond tedious is some of the preaching by a select few posters.
It doesn’t make sense as well. No one is saying they aren’t playing well this season so why do they keep making threads about them?
Maybe it’s cause they are in cloud cuckoo land and actually think many of the above were doing enough for the team last year?

I'd agree. I've criticised Tommy in the past but thought we missed him a lot today - not just his step in attack but defensively also (as an aside thought Sam had a great game in defence today).
Goulding deserves some credit for not going into touch more often - he got some poor passes today.
I also thought Phelps was poor by his own standards - both in attack and his positional play in defence. Let's hope he improves with a couple more games under his belt.
