| Good boost for the rest of the season, 6 weeks ago I would have been buzzing with this but his form has tailed off and it feels a bit of a risk for a player who has only showed top form for a few months, probably a sign of the current prop market. He’s only 23 though and I think he adds something different to our other young props.

Thank you Mr Danson.

From the article it seems like it might be less than the previous bid that got rejected.

| Looking from a solely statistical POV, his form definitely looks to have picked back up in recent weeks, after a drop off following a move not happening back around May time. His form prior to that was excellent but it is a small sample size, to be going stumping transfer fees up on the back of. Luckily I doubt his salary would be massive at Salford and if Danson is covering things now, it’s loose change to him, so as fans we can pretty much ignore any fee paid.
Fingers crossed he can add plenty for us. It’s not taken a rugby league guru to work out we’re short in that area. If he gives one or two lads a kick up the backside, that’s all the better.

Worrying times for Salford if they’ve approached us, as us being rumoured.

| Were is this?
Edit: NM just seen it. Like someone else has said may explain why Singletons not played. Would bring in some much needed grunt to push the back end of the season.
I may have been fooled but Mago has looked solid the past few weeks. If we can’t find a prop that fits would it be a bad thing to keep him. Maybe if we do sign Dupree would it not give him the much needed kick up the

I'm seeing the rumour is it officially announced anywhere?

| MUCH needed, but could have done with him in April when Cooper was done for the season. Move Mago on, bring in a 6 and we might make the GF.

| Way things have been in recent weeks, Mago is almost tempting me to say I’d keep him in the 17 and drop Byrne out, at least in the short term. Use it as an opportunity to try and get a reaction from Byrne. He looks like he needs a freshen up. He didn’t have a normal pre season with the World Cup and due to absences in the pack, there has been a burden on him most of the season. He looks a bit jaded to me and down on confidence.

Apologies, I may have jumped the gun a little but Shaw is pretty reliable. Wonder if Singleton will go the other way early? Maybe drop the fee a little?

I think that’s a good idea both to kick him up the and give him a needed rest.

| We definitely have a forward pack filled with English potential now with Dupree, Havard, Walters, Hill, Nsemba and Smithies. Dupree's an explosive player on his day - will be interesting to see how he adapts to the culture at Wigan. He was quoted recently saying that every player in SL wants to go to the NRL so maybe he sees this as a stepping stone towards that.
As it stands assuming Powell and Isa move on there does seem to be a need for some experience in there. Cooper may or may not come back at some point and even if he does we can't assume he'll be what he was pre injury. Faz will still be there of course and Leeming will help. You'd assume a second rower will come in but it looks like we may not fill our overseas quota next year unless someone stays who we don't expect to.
Re Byrne/Mago - Mago seemed to pick up a knock at the end of the game so it's possible he won't be available this weekend.

They’ll knock at least 25 pence off

That’s unfortunately where we stand with the NRL, it’s probably a sign of lack of ambition to not want to go to the NRL, I fear Havard and Smithies will end up there in the next few years.
Recruitment wise I hope we sign a big boned experienced Ozzie second rower, Fitzgibbon would have been a good signing but he’s going Warrington, likely too much to ask to want a half or another centre, think we will run with French and Keighran with Astley and Eckersley as back ups. If we can get really good go forward I think French could be good in the halves.

Can they throw Croft in as well? If it is true that he has a release clause of £78k we should be all over it.
