Just confirmed on the official site he’s signed a one year extension to his current deal.

Club have timed this so well, thank god our form changed icon_lol.gif

Happy with this though. He’s had some to deal with this year and carried himself superbly and we’re in prime position in the table to make a tilt at the GF. What more could you ask for?

Still not 100% convinced he is the right man but putting that aside it at least clears up any uncertainty within the club and fans.

We are in a good place now versus where we were at the start of June and credit is due to Lam and the players for that upturn, more so after what the club had endured in what has, up until recently anyway, been a spectacularly embarrassing season in many ways.

We know we’re safe, that’s a huge weight gone. The only intriguing question left is how far can we go come finals season? Personally I don’t think we’ll make it but literally anything could happen. And I bloody well hope it does too.

I wonder if the Williams news will come now too?

As for Lam I think we will be right back here this time next year most still undecided about Lam

1 year. That's a proper hedge your bets type signing that. Not complaining though. Loved Lammy when he played and he's doing his best with the team this year. Hope we can win something for him.

We certainly have turned a corner but I’d have said that coincided with Matty Peet returning, it would be good to know who it’s down to.

Surprised it’s only a year...perhaps that suits both parties but it’s hardly the huge vote of confidence in Lam that some where expecting.

For me the jury is out on Lam, I feel he deserves at least another season due to our poor
recruitment this season following our high profile departures...losing Bateman in particular has hurt us.

Sensible decision from the club.

Seems a bit of a stretch to put our change in form down to our former Head of Youth becoming an assistant coach. Not that I'm saying an assistant coach can't make a difference, they obviously can and do, but they are still working under the head coach.

We've probably turned the corner by having a run of winnable games, Farrell returning from injury and being able to field a more settled halfback partnership alongside a hooker who looks to be making big improvements to his game.

Jury is still out for me - Hope I’m wrong but it has the feeling of Solskjær getting the Man U job permanently, prematurely.

We haven’t won a game against any of the teams currently above us this season in league or cup and while we should all be happy with the upturn in results and form it needs to be put into context of the teams we’ve played.

We were 10th/11th in the table for a large period, of course we’ve beaten teams above us.

We’ve played Hull once and lost by one point. Against Warrington we lost at Magic 3 tries to 2 - hardly gave a bad account of ourselves - and the cup game by 2 points. Fair enough Saints have beaten us comfortably twice but I’d rather lose to them in July and beat them in September.

Time will tell with Lam.

At times we've been terrible, at others great. In all honesty we've had 2 excellent performances all season, only 2. V Cats and v Hull KR. But...perhaps Lam has had it tough? Not sure.

I pray what we saw last week becomes the norm. I don't think at this stage, losing to Saints would be all doom and gloom, as long as we perform and keep improving so we're ready for when it really matters.

Hopefully this is the right appointment, at the end of the day we all want the same thing, a successful entertaining RL team.
