| Let's have some comments on last night's match instead of the main topic of the day on the retirement of Lance Whoareya!
Some great tries last night, yes Hull KR were terrible (did they actually threaten our line once)? Our forwards metres made was tremendous.
George Williams 2nd try was worth the admission fee alone (very Brett Kenny-esque)!!! He was immense!
We look a very formidable team at home even with a small number of senior players missing. Don't see why we can't do the same against Cas next week.
The goal now should be to improve our away form, do this we are laughing!

| It's sometimes hard to judge on games like last night, was we really that good or was Hull Kr that poor? I think a bit of both. Hull kr had some key players missing as well so I think it will be completely different in a couple of weeks when we play them in the cup, having said that though we had players missing ourselves and I think it shows why it's important to have the depth that we do that other teams don't.
On our performance I thought Williams was m.o.m, he bossed us around again along with Matty Smith and our forwards did a good solid job, IMO Williams had a better game last night than at Wakefield last week when he got sky's mom. Larne Patrick put in his best performance of the year, and a key part to that as well I think is because he wasn't playing as a prop. He's a great line runner and proved that last night. I've read somewhere that Albert Kelly missed 12 tackles last night, never seen someone get targeted as much as he did last night in one single game.

I'm in agreement with all of that plus I thought Tautai went better and Sarginson got his previous bad performance out of his system. However, Hampshire was mediocre again IMO.

I'm not sure what your wanting Hampshire to do more? He linked up well in the build up with a couple of the tries, there was a good touch flick pass that he got out wide that didn't result in a try but again the build up play gave us good field position. I think sometimes people expect to much of Rocky because of his performances at academy level, he's a good player and doing his job just fine IMO.

| Mossop not being in the 17 when we went with 6 props seemed a strange one. He warned up as well so didn't look like an injury.

| Hull KR didn't have just one eye on next week, they had both eyes on it. Resting Campese and taking Blair off early on was proof of that.
We need to start every game with that much intensity though, regardless of who we are playing. We used to do it a couple of years ago, just blitz teams in the opening 15 and they haven't got a clue what to do then.

| There was a telling stat that appeared during the game at some point relating to missed tackles and it was Wigan 1 Hull KR 32. Be interesting to see the stats for the game to see truly how bad it ended up gor them.

| Williams was outstanding and it's incredible to think he didn't get the ground or Sky man of the match.
The link up with Burgess in the first half, the kick to Burgess for the last try and then his 2nd try were pure magic. He's really starting to justify the hype now.
A mention must go to Joe Burgess also. The kid had a tough start and his mind was clearly wandering. A mate of mine said he believed it wasn't because his mind was in Sydney but more that he was too desperate to try and prove it wasn't and that lead to errors. That's out of the way now and he's on fire.

I agree. Williams individual try was fantastic and great to see a half back take the line on. Pleased for Burgess. A couple of bad performances and there was a queue forming to fire him off. Vindicates Wane by sticking by the player as well.

| Understandably people will be writing this performance off due to a poor display from a weakened Hull KR but I thought Wigan were great last night. 1 half break from Hull KR all night and some terrific rugby league played.
The key to where we will finish will be whether we can find a way to take our good home form into a tough run of away games in a fortnight. The difference in performance level is staggering really - obviously playing at home will help but it's only a patch of grass at the end of the day right?

I never felt that wrapping yourselves in cotton wool was ever a sensible preparation for a big game. During the Graham Lowe and John Monie era at Wigan, the policy was to take one match at a time - treat each one as an essential game in its own right, and go all out to win it - and never think about the week after next.
Rovers may well feel the next match is the 'real' one, but a 60-0 defeat can be a difficult thing to get out of your system inside a couple of weeks.
The main danger, as I see it, is Wigan being complacent. But hopefully, if they're now hitting their straps, and a good solid win against Cas would be just what the doctor ordered in that regard, they too will approach the Cup game with very professional and serious intent.

| What did the sign say that Gelling was waving about? Saw something about Greg Burke and Beech Hill but as soon as I saw it on the screen it flashed off again.
He seems a right character does Gelling, must be great to have someone like him in the dressing room!!

I believe it said said 'Greg Burke #17 Beech Hill Bad Boy'
What a lad Gelling is.
Regards the game; Wigan were unplayable for that first 20 minutes. Yes Rovers were poor but the skill and pace Wigan showed during that period was quite phenomenal. Hopefully we're hitting our straps coming to the business end of the year.

| I think one of the more important stats is the big fat zero in the away points column. KR hardly threatened but you can only play what's in front of you and being ruthless in the way they were will only do us a big lump of good.
Very entertaining game, & nice to be able to relax for once.
