The poor crowd tonight must be a real worry for IL.
He failed to act early in the season to replace BN and clear out the backroom staff and many people are now voting with their feet.
If season ticket sales and crowd levels generally are to hold up next season IL is going to have to pull some rabbits out of his hat in terms of exciting coaching and player news.

Not really, the crowds for all the playoff games have been low, just like they are in early Challenge Cup rounds. They always have been.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate

The crowds for all the play off games have been really poor. I think it's got sod all to do with anything IL may or may not have done.
For me, 7pm on a Sunday evening when i've got the kids to sort out for school the next day was a crappy time for the game.

All the play-off games have been poorly attended so far. I put that down to the fact season ticket holders had to buy tickets for this match and also the new format of the play-offs. You can't blame IL for that.

Probably the poorest turnout in 5 years yet still the 2nd highest attendance of the weekend. Worried? All it will take is a good bit of marketing.

Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

Our first sub 10,000 Crowd for a Super League game since July 2005.
But a positive spin - it was a bigger crowd than the 2002 home play off v Cas.  |

I don't think its IL who needs to worry its the RFL. Its not good that these games attract so few speccies. I was quite shocked to be honest to see the empty spaces at the ground.
I must admit I thought twice about going mainly because of it being a Sunday and my son has to get up for school tomorrow but we went and we go back to Chester at 22:10 so it wasn't really a problem.
As a season ticket holder I do think we should get any home playoff games in with the price and if we did the crowds would easily be bigger. We had different people say next to us than usual so the two who have season tickets.

What i mean is, the fan who pays week in week out would have been there tonight, generally. I know season ticket holders who didn't go because 1) their ticket didn't get them in tonight, and 2) it was on telly.
They stayed in the pub all day watching Man Utd, then Chelsea, then Wigan.
