| Think he does a good job defensively and carries strong and hard but personally wouldn't like to see him playing out there in a close game where there could possibly only be a couple of points in it. I know he's a 2nd row/centre playing on the wing but he's been there a while now would of liked to see him just pin the ears back and run for the corner last night on a few occassions but he seems to prefer coming back inside everytime when further than a couple metres out from the line.

He's not quick enough to pin his ears back and go for the corner. Not worth risking trying to go on the outside of someone when you've not got the pace.

| if he carried the ball in the correct hand he'd be able to go for the corner and use a fend, but he doesn't and thats why i think he comes back inside a lot.

| He was signed as a centre and does lack a bit of pace for a winger BUT he is doing a half decent job in Pat's absence particularly in defence, he is worth his place at the moment and a good player to have in the squad.

He needs to run straight rather than trying to dance round players - he's a bull of a lad!

| Apart from not quite having the pace or confidence to go for the corner and a lack of positional experience I think he's doing everything else really well. He's been a threat in the air in previous games, defends very well and I can't think of a winger who carries the ball much stronger than him in SL. Considering he is only playing because Pat is injured, I think he's doing very well.
I've only seen King once or twice and I do think it's worth giving him a chance, but not because of the way Gelling is playing.

| I find it hard to believe there isn't an available British youngster who can't offer more. He looks like the big lad amateur teams put on the wing to learn the trade.

| The trouble he has playing on the left wing is that he's consistently carrying the ball in his right hand (he did it in every one of his carries last night). This is preventing him from handing off covering defenders or giving defenders a big fend, knocking them off balance, before going round them a la paaaat. Its a relatively small thing, but it makes a HUGE difference for bigger wingers with slightly less pace and i'm amazed one of the coaches haven't picked up on this.
I will add this is fine if he's playing as it allows him to offload to his winger, but as a winger it's really not helping him and could be why he's seen spilling so much ball under contact. As a professional you should really be able to carry the ball in either hand.

I think Ryan King's form has dipped this season.

I agree. When I've seen him this year he's been pretty unspectacular. He'll finish tries off like a natural winger will but he's not doing much anywhere else on the pitch. At the moment he'd be comparable to Jamie Foster.
If anyone deserves a shot on the wing it's Joe Burgess. If Williams is being considered for the first team then Burgess must be too.

| I think he's doing a good enough job its just in a big game I'd rather see a winger who will make a run for the line when he has the room. George seems to get the ball out to him alot with room to run and he doesn't take it steps inside and is gang tackled and carried out or knocks on quite abit. Murphy seems to be in the match day squad quite alot recently so is he in Wane's plans more than the other young wingers I'd assume.

| Gelling just has something about him that I like. He's like bamby on ice at points with his long legs and arms flaying about the place but he has something about him. I'm convinced he isn't a winger but he's got a lot of talent and with patience, good coaching and a chance in a position more suited to his game I believe we've found a real talent.
He's frustrating at times but I honestly believe if we're patient he'll repay everyone's faith.
