Got to say when i first heared he'd signed i didn't know what to expect but wow this guy is a breath of fresh air and his attitude is top notch

I got told a few weeks ago when he first come he said to all the players i want you all to be best mates if one of you go out you ring your mates and invite them with you and if your family goes out your mates familys go aswell and it's showing on the pitch, under noble at times it looked like they just wanted to play and go now they look hungry all the time want to work there was a game this season when fielden got took off and he was mad really p***ed cause he wanted to stay on i dont think i've ever seen him like that

No matter what happens on saturday bringing this guy in was the best decision this club has ever made

Mike Maguires Barmy Army

I had great hopes for Mike Maguire when he first arrived at the club. You don't come over to the UK with the backing of legendary coaches such as Wayne Bennett and Craigh Bellamy if you don't have something about you. However, deep down I knew there had to be a complete overhaul at the club for the culture to change. From Mark Bitcom in the pre-season to Shaun Wane as his assistant. Having ex-players like Kris Radlinski and Steve Hampson must make a difference IMO. I expected change, but I didn't expect things to change so quickly - especially since Madge didn't even have a full pre-season with the boys.

I realise we have a final to play in next week, but next season I think we could be frightening.

Agreed I did not expect us to win anything this year but I did expect us to show considerable improvement. Next year always was and probably still is going to be the acid test for Madge, would be nice to go into that season as Champs though, a real unexpected bonus for me should it happen.

Its great to see that the club is getting back to what it was famous for.....winning

Madge and Co have worked wonders in their first season, if we win on saturday who knows what the team will achieve next season

I remember a topic detailing when Melbourne were over here playing Leeds in the WCC, a fan spoke to a few of their players and they were bigging up madge. They said they couldn't believe teams in aus hadn't given him a top coach job and they went onto say 'he will win u they grand final for you' I belive! Fingers crossed!

Maguire has been fantastic so far, he has brought a much needed culture change to the club and more importantly he seems to have instilled a winning mentality. Now apart from just stating the obvious i believe IMO he will be up there with the best coaches we have ever had at Wigan aswel as being the benchmark for other young coaches to come through in the future.

And wins Coach of the Year in his first season.
