39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| We still have brilliant attendances. It would be great if we could have an atmosphere like that every week though.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| To be honest I was glad to see us win in front of a big crowd. I'm sure we have lost more than we have won when we have had big crowds at the JJB/DW

St. Helens RFC - 2014 League Leaders Shield Winners & Grand Final Winners: |
|
| The problem is that most super league games are one sided and boring. The quality is also pretty low. Todays game was exciting and great spectacle however the quality from both teams was in fits and spurts rather than for most of the game. Get the quality back in the game and crowds will grow - however a competition that according to Eddie Hemmings is the most unpredicatble ever isn't going to get the crowds week in week out as the games are generally low in quality. Eddie was nearly creaming himself over the Crusaders result despite the probable fact that the game was probably pretty poor and low in quality.

And watched by barely 3,000 spectators. Terrible crowds, administration, relocation and a Welsh youth development infrastructure that isn't ready to support a SL club - the Crusaders for now have to go.
Wakefield and Crusaders out, Widnes and Halifax in.

| I ain't been in attendance as much this season and last season because of university, It is amazing to see it packed like that but I can understand why some people don't attend certain games. It's mostly been away matches in Yorkshire for me the past year and a bit but I try and get to as many home games as possible when I'm here.

Well done Billy Big B0ll0cks, thank you for your loyal support. Maybe some fans cannot make the other games? If you look at Hull FC game for example, if they have an away like Saints did today then its easily 20000+.
What es me off, is people calling 'Bandwagoners'! These are the fans we need to get 20000+ attendances each week. I was glad we won today because it will encourage most of the fans who came to return in the future. But dont underestimate the power of the bandwagoner, look at Warrington for example...

That's the Soopah Doopah League for you. Don't get me wrong, the commitment and fitness levels on display yesterday were superb and there were many promising young players on the field but really the quality wasn't very high, both teams looked disjointed and not capable of playing well other than in 10 min bursts. If unpredictability of results is what people want then the problem is that people who aren't die-hard RL fans aren't interested in level playing fields of mediocrity, they want to watch a high quality product and we won't attract the RL fan who comes to the odd game to attend more matches or get new fans interested in RL with the low quality fare on offer.

Warrington's bandwagon is a quite a bit smaller than Wigan's, though. It's more of a bandtaxi...

And what exactly would Halifax - within spitting distance of Huddersfield and Bradford, no youth policy, poor financial history, currently bottom of the league, offer Super League?

For us, going to a live game is a family day/night out, meaning 2 adults and at least 2 kids, maybe 3 if my eldest comes too. It's not something we can afford to do most weeks so we're usually crowded round the telly or radio together on other weeks. The big games are the obvious choice for fans who can't go every week. Sorry if we aren't up to your standard oh superfan. Great way to turn a sellout into a negative eh?
