Estimates on how many we and Hudds will bring and the total figure? Leigh and Featherstone will likely bring 5k between them although as we saw at the semi final many will be unlikely to actually watch a game that they're not involved in.

I'd guess 45k with us bringing around 12k and Hudds maybe 6 or 7? Hopefully the novelty of the stadium will attract more neutrals.

I get the sense the neutral take up isn’t what they’d have hoped for so far. I honestly thought people would be excited to go to the new Spurs stadium because it looks a fabulous facility but money is tight for people.

The fact two of the biggest championship clubs have made the 1895 final will help. We’ll take a decent following. We go to games nowadays in a usual group of 4 but there will be around 8 or 9 of us for the final. I wouldn’t be as confident that Huddersfield will take a good following but you never know. Huddersfield town making their play off final could help boost their numbers.

At a guess I reckon there will be between 45,000-50,000 on.

The RFL ticket map implies that most of the ground is sold out/unavailable but that will include the allocations to the two clubs and possibly certain sections of the ground won't be opened unless there is enough demand.

The only other occasion Wigan played against Huddersfield in a CC final was back in season 1919/20 which you lost, with the match at Headingley and an attendance of 14,000.

Will go for 4 times this at 56,000.

Can't see Huddersfield taking that many more supporters than either Featherstone or Leigh will for curtain raiser. Should be plenty Pie eaters though.

The celebratory tweets about ticket sales are worrying. I recall the days of teams mentioning sales of 10,000 plus and we’ve had us going in at 2,500, Huddersfield at 1,000 and Leigh at a very specific 251 icon_lol.gif

Mitigating factors to all I suppose. Leigh had been on sale just post match for a couple of hours. Huddersfield had been online only until this morning and we’d only had the Sunday to sell them when we posted that.

The prices of the tickets is definitely off putting in the current climate, along with the cost of travel. Especially if there's a family going. I was shocked when I saw coach companies charging £50 each.

I did think there would be more neutrals purely for the stadium, however this is why I don't like the magic weekend. Those that might have gone for the weekend as a neutral most likely now opt for the magic weekend instead as they at least get to see their team play.

I'll be honest, I had no idea the 1895 cup was being played as a double header and I was expecting it to sell out without it! But there does seem to be quite a slow uptake. I don't think them being on general sale will make too much difference to the sales as I'm sure most people who want to go have or know someone with a season ticket who will get them for them, and one person alone can buy for 9 non season ticket holders.

It’s not cheap, especially with the way things are for people currently. If you consider a family of four wanting to go and travel by coach, they’re looking at a minimum of £280 (£200 for the coach and the cheapest tickets you can get are £15/£30) and that’s pretty big money when bills are through the roof, food and fuel prices are shooting up and so on. I’m not bagging the prices of anything there either, I don’t think the match tickets are too expensive at all and coaches are going to be dear with the fuel costs but it could impact on numbers somewhat.

London Euston return is £100 per person plus whatever it costs to get the tube. As a family of four you just wouldn't. At best you'd take the knock and drive yourself.

I know it's tradition to head down to London for the cup final but I'm not sure the benefits outweigh the (quite literal) costs. It's a Northern sport - wouldn't it be easier to play it closer to home? Having said that the only option I can think of would be Anfield - assuming we want to aim higher than the capacity of the Etihad.

The Etihad is slightly bigger anyway but I’d always want the final to be at a venue with a sense of it being a day out or a weekend away. To put it on the doorstep could really go either way. I’ve long thought (probably since our game there in 2004) that the final should go full time to Cardiff. The stadium is just an outstanding venue for a team making a final and for all fans, neutrals included. The whole City is buzzing on match day, everyone is within walking distance of the ground and it just has a great feel about it. Wembley is old hat for me. It is in an area that’s difficult to get to, it’s not the best area for bars/restaurants etc and the atmosphere isn’t like the old place. It wouldn’t ease travel costs but it’s more appealing in most other aspects for me.

Of course in the current climate coach prices are expensive. Fuel is expensive.

The club have just announced 4,000 ticket sales.

We have 7 of us going down tickets not yet purchased, gonna go down to the Arena in the morning. Best price online at the moment seems to be £45 per adult (upper corner). Will see what the club have before making a purchase, also want coach tickets from Robin Park which the club are advertising at £50 each.

Ah thought Etihad was 45kish but you're right it's 55.

We've sold over 4k now. I don't think Il be far off with my guess of 12k from Wigan including tickets bought direct from the RFL.
