The positives- Salford did not look like scoring. Our defence looked solid.
The negative- We did not look too threatening ourselves most of the time. Our off loading game seems to have gone out of the window and there was an awful lot of one up play. I hope that KPP's groin (?) injury is not bad. If it is we need to replace him with a centre/back rather than another second row for the next game.

KPP crutches after the game so sounds bad one.

We should have enough options to cover KPP if either is available. Even without we have Hallsall and Miski who has looked good. I think too much has been made of the couple dropped balls tbh as neither was an easy take (and one should have been a penalty anyway IMO). Not keen on shifting everyone around to accommodate him though so maybe Halsall to come in?

Sometimes the crutches etc are precautionary so fingers crossed it's not as bad as it looks.

Regarding the KPP unjury- Hardaker stays in the team due to his goal kicking, he is the best of a bad bunch. With that said, I'd move him inside and hopefully French outside (if he's fit enough), if not I'd play Miski, there's Thornley to throw in the mix if he's near fitness.

We might be without TL if the panel decide that his tackle was uncontrolled/reckless. Very similar to the one that did Thornley but I do not remember what happened on review for that one.

Will be interesting if Smith comes in or not. He’s really struggled in the minutes he’s had this year (and a lot of last year tbf). Personally I think I’d prefer Shorrocks to deputise.

Smith should and will come in IMO. It’s his chance to lay a marker down and that cup game especially will be an acid test. He had an up and down game against Toulouse but there were plenty of positive signs and he had a decent Pre season. It’s those daft errors he needs to try and get rid of.

I think it has to be Smith in for Tommy if banned.

If KPP is injured I would think Zak to centre and Miski on the wing.

Would like to see Bevan on the bench rather than 4 forwards. Isa and Bateman can cover injuries to the backs - options for Cust/Field to go into 9 or 6 and french have a short spell back at FB.

If Smith doesn’t come in for TL that’s a massive vote of no confidence and I can’t see him having a future at the club. Has to play it imo.

I'm sure he's got like 3 years left on his deal. He isn't going anywhere, even if he plays or not.
