| Sign of the lad that he wanted to give it one more go but like many times before it’s just not meant to be. It really is gutting that such a great player has had these issues now but calling it quits right now is the right call. I wasn’t sure I could go Friday due to a family emergency but I’ll be absolutely trying my best to sneak away for a couple of hours now, just to give the lad the send off he deserves.

Very sad - the surgeries he'll need in the future sound horrendous.
Thanks for everything you've done Dom - best wishes for the future.

| Absolutely gutted for him, I doubt there's been a more humble, popular and likeable character. I hope he gets it sorted enough to live a normal pain free life, hopefully there is a place at the club for him, and he's been looking and working towards that.
That said, does it open up the option to throw a little cash at London to get Miski in early?

| Really feel for him. People should remember situations like this when they criticise any player for making decisions based on money. Thanks for everything you've given us Dom!

Really? Did you even read the press release? It talks about all his achievements etc.
I can't speak for the lad, but I doubt he'd swap that GF night for anything. It's the type of thing that money can't buy. I certainly wouldn't anyway.

| Really sad to hear that Dom Manfredi has had to call time on his RL career
As an outsider I always thought that prior to his injuries that he was going to be world class and it's such a shame that he won't be able to full fill that talent through such cruel injuries.
He was a very good winger though and was a player that had everything within his game to make it in the NRL
The Rhinos have endured something similar with Stevie Ward, (although for different reasons) and he is also a massive loss to our game as he was also was a great player that could have gone on to being a world class back rower.

The sort of losses the game here can’t afford as we don’t produce enough good players. Ultimately you can only hope both can get back to their full health ASAP. I’ve seen a few interviews with Stevie Ward recently and it sounds like he’s doing it really tough with the effects of the repeated concussions. I’m not sure if his health is up to it but a full time gig on Sky to replace any of the deadwood would be good. I enjoy listening to him on the tv.

| Excellent player and the few times I’ve and talked to him a nice bloke as well, but at least sense has prevailed and he’s called time now rather than trying one more time to pull the boots on,it’s clearly bad enough with what’s coming to add more to it.
Fine player who will be missed on the field

| Devastating news. Can’t fathom what he’s gone through, going through and will go through both in the near future and long term. He’s a true warrior for not just picking himself up, literally, once but twice and go through that horrendous rehab and self doubt. I genuinely don’t think most people could comprehend the level of grit, determination and sheer guts that takes. And having the sheer cheek to give his injuries the FU and then to go on and score 2 tries in the 2018 Grand Final mere weeks after getting back into the first team?
What a player. What a man.

| Shame, wish him all the best in future whatever he ends up doing. Sometimes tough decisions have to be made for the longer term benefit and thta is exactly what it sounds like- I hope it works out for him.

Yeah, I have almost no doubt he would have been a star without injuries, even with them he had a good career albeit stop start and now cut short.
I’m really gutted for the lad, hope he enjoys the rest of his life and has success in whatever he chooses to do next.
