| Lam - A joke that we have given him another year.
Hardaker - Good defender, not good enough in attack.
Hankinson - Doesnt do anything wrong but simply not good enough
Gildart - dreadful loss of form in the last half of season.
Burgess - Done for. Lost his speed, looks lazy and clumsy
Williams - Thank God he is going. Far too hot and cold. Tonight he was stone cold, totally outplayed 10 times over by the man who will replace him.
Tommy - Past it. Great defender but couldnt create beans on toast with ball in hand
Flower - Good 10 minutes with some improved carries tonight but then he needs a weeks rest. Far too unfit for the modern game. Perhaps too old?
Powell - Has no craft with the ball in hand and hookers need to be crafty.
Clubb - I truly hope this guy never plays for Wigan again. Utterly awful, slow and cumbersome
Farrell - another who lost his form this past few weeks. Still tried hard though in a beaten team.
Isa - another i dont want to play for wigan ever again. Has there ever been a less threatening player with ball in hand? Looks like hes doing a lot but in reality does nothing in attack. Never breaks a tackle, never makes metres after the tackle, cant pass, slow, no agility.
O'loughlin - Looked the only player capable of creating something despite him being ready for the knackers yard. Been over used in the early part of the season IMO.
French - This guy is a winger nothing more. Very dangerous with with ball in hand but he seems like a luxury player since we will have 4 other wingers next year. Did we really need him?
I fear for next year looking at our team. Only Burgess is an improvement in the forwards.

You know, i thought about that last week, not with Hastings but Burgess. Have any of these new players actually signed?

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Lam ain’t good enough, the team don’t look like they want to play with each other and that’s down to him. We are Wigan and we need someone more experienced. (Little voice at the back ‘What about Maguire?’ Well 1 swallow doesn’t make a summer).
What is the plan for French? It seems we are recruiting players based on every attribute other than how they’d fit into the team.
So that’s 2 areas where I think we are lacking, the coaching side and the recruitment side. Theres no point looking beyond those areas for the time being.
On another note I’ve never know a Wigan side not to give a toss more than tonight’s side, and from my experience that’s down to the coaches and club culture.

You see, i didnt see a lack of effort or a team not giving a toss. I thought they tried hard. I just saw a team that was unprepared and had no direction. Phil Clarke commented at one point in the first half that we were just making the plays up and id agree with that.

| Lam has 2020 to win something or at least get us to a final.
He did well getting us to 2nd but he's not a good enough coach for play off rugby.
Two weeks ago we beat Salford in a close fought match. So close it left our players physically and mentally shattered. We were smashed by Saints and well beaten by Salford tonight.
After their narrow defeat 2 weeks ago Salford went on to beat Cas convincingly and did the same tonight. Their coach has motivated them to improve. We've gone backwards in play off rugby to an extent that's very worrying.
We still had some very good players out there yet they served up that dross.
Whether they were playing believing they could win I don't know but don't think so. Salford played knowing they could win and did so.
Lam has some thinking to do this off season, mainly about himself.

| French will become another Escare, not quite good enough in any one position quite why he was signed still befuddles me
As for Lam well he needs to get himself sorted as he simply looks out of his depth and it’s been like this most of the season bar the odd game here and there

And on this basis whoever is in charge of recruitment needs to go. Don’t get me wrong, French looks an exciting attacking player but some of his tackles tonight made me wonder whether he’d ever tackled anyone before tonight. I’m wondering what position he will play? I know he’s come over early but what position next year? Utility?

I thought more or less the same thing I couldn’t see why, really he was signed, exciting yes but so are any of Wigan’s wingers when they’re in full flight, odd signing at a time the pack desperately needed strengthening.

I really don’t think Hasting will u turn back to a club that at the start of the season was going under. Even if they win this Grand Final they still are at risk next year if people don’t start turning up to games.

| This notion that we’re ‘lucky to have finished 2nd & got to the semi’s of the playoffs’ really bugs me.
Firstly, you finish where you deserve to. We had a decent 2nd half to the reason so deserved to finish 2nd. However, part of that was that we deserved it more than a capitulating Hull & Wire.
Once you’re there, you’ve a job to do. If Salford had gone out the way we did, Salford fans may have accepted the claptrap if ‘we’ve had a good year & we did well until the last few weeks’. A club with our recent history in olayoffs, big games & finals, shouldn’t.
It was Lam - and his staffs - job to motivate & prepare the players with a game plan to at least compete. Lets be honest, the last 2 weeks we’ve not even competed. We’ve capitulated. The book for that stops with Lam and his staff.
Nice fella, great player in his day but he is out of his depth when the business end of the season comes and Wigan shouldn’t accept anything less than being involved at the business end. He’s looked lost in recent weeks, like a rabbit in the headlights with no clue how to get his team to even compete.
We can all cope with being beaten by a better team, narrowly in a tight fought game. The last 2 weeks have been anything but. Capitulation & embarrassment are the only words I can use for recent weeks. The blame lies with the coach.

And it was at this point I stopped reading.
Very disrespectful comments to a list of players that only 12 months ago won a Grand Final.

Sorry, Williams was fantastic, man of the match. I wish he was staying and Hastings wasnt coming. Is that better?
