| Sincere apologies Wane for any criticism labelled at you. Please return.
Adrian, thanks for giving it a shot pal, but unfortunately it's not working bud. No hard feelings.
Everyone in favour say aye??

| Seen some poor Wigan efforts but today was up there. Simply not good enough.
I do however feel Wane would get more from this current set. Not that there is 1% chance it’ll happen.

| Yeah well you dummies who wanted rid of a coach that was winning trophies have got what you asked for but if you think Wane returning would make that much difference you're deluded. Ian Lenegan is responsible for where we are right now. Years of terrible recruitment and 'value' signings replacing world class players are coming home to roost. Throw the current coaching situation on top and Lenegan has got what he asked for, a team of crappers and past it players that are as confused with the coaching situation as you and i are.

| Adrian Lam is not to blame, the recruitment and the cost cutting is. There was plenty of effort today but we were just playing a better side. We lost 2 of our biggest competitors in Tomkins and Bateman and that hunger is really hard to replicate. I dont even think Wane would make much difference.
This year should be consolidation make sure we dont finish bottom and then allow Lam to construct a squad of players he wants and can work with. I have no doubts that Adrian Lam will be a good coach, but he took on a job that was a no win situation. Now Edwards has shown his true colours we should back him. Panic sacking your coach every year you struggle isnt the answer

| I understand people wanting to bring Wane back but my view is different. After watching Wigan for 60 years and so obviously I’ve seen many ups and a few downs. I can take these downs because I know that in a couple of years time we’ll have improved out of sight and maybe Saints will be struggling.
However, I watch Wigan to be entertained and therefore I don’t want Wane back. He’s a coach who knows how to win but winning at the expense of entertainment is not for me. I’ve only been bored at Wigan matches when Noble and Wane have been in charge.
Strangely, I’ve enjoyed watching Wigan this season. We’ve only won three games but I’ve seen some magnificent tries scored by Wigan. Injuries plus a few players who aren’t Wigan standard have been the reason for the losses.
I don’t thing Lam should be judged on results alone.

| We had some dire performances under Shaun Wane lets not forget. It's frustrating when we lose to Saints but did any one actually think we had the better team? The manner of defeat is more frustrating but it looked like the established players who were brought back into the side were a fair bit off full fitness and we were chasing shadows by the end of the game. A poor performance but ultimately our poor run of form is hardly unexpected. We actually did well against Castleford and Wakefield when you consider the forwards we fielded.
If we can get some established players back and up to speed we might be able to see a more competitive side and see what Lam can do with a few more options to pick from.
As it stands I don't see what more Lam can do. Having a poor run of form after winning the Grand Final has been something of a pattern for a few years now. Throw in some injuries in the pack, which was clearly a weakness before the start of the season (so you're looking at Rads and Lenagan for that issue), and it's not hard to see why we've had such a poor start.
Recruitment and retention seems to have been a big issue this year. Losing the best player in Super League in Bateman and not replacing him looks daft. Most of our key forwards have either been injured for several games (Lockers, Flower, Greenwood, Farrell), or seem to have a squad role far greater than their ability (Powell, Clubb, Isa, Navarrete, Tautai). Getting something out of the current squad might be difficult for Lam.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

I rather have Millward back than Wane. Seriously, that bloke may have won trophies but he put me off watching Wigan.

The fitness is probably down to losing Bitcon which is showing to be worse than any decision to let a player go.

There isn’t an issue with fitness. When you’re constantly defending of course it saps you’re energy. We gave away 4 penalties in the first 10 minutes and we just didn’t have a decent share of possession. Our kicking game was horrendous and nothing more than catching practice for their back 3.
There are some players who are just not good enough. Isa bombed yet another great chance early on and we’re our own worst enemy. We’re clearly lacking in confidence and clearly missing a decent 7. I hope Shorrocks is ok but he’s not taking his chance to cement that scrum half spot. He was far more effective when he was coming on to cover for Leuluai at 9.
We need to announce Lam as coach and give him a blank canvas to rebuild our squad. He needs to be ruthless in his approach and be given the resources he needs to bring in whoever he trusts both on and off the field.
