| A few points about this.
1. Leeds getting stuffed today (2 on the trot) must give us real incentive to go into next week with fire in the belly (as if they needed it anyway) Whilst i agree Leeds have been the best side in Sl this year it's all about now. We have hit some good form in recent weeks and are on the up. Are Leeds in the opposite direction? are they in danger of becoming victims of their own success? winning is just the same as losing, it can sometimes become a habit.
2. As i said, Leeds have been the best side, that is why they are top of the pile. Do you think it has become a personal crusade to take this notion of the 'treble' away from them now? Even if they win the GF would you class it as finishing top as having a moral victory?
3. This is now a realistic opportunity. They have to play a tough Huddersfield side who have no fear. It may come down to who wants to play who in the semis in regards to squad selection in the final stage. Whatever happens the season is shaping up to be a cracker and the side i would least like to play at the minute is the Giants. They are going under the radar a little bit but are a very dangerous side who can beat anybody on their day. I would rather finish with Saints having to come here.

| Not a priority for me at all. Just about playing well and hitting some form like you say. If we play as well as we can then whatever happens, happens but I would also rather play Saints at home which will probably mean finishing 2nd.

| Just think it's vital we finish in the top 2 and get home game ( at the DW ) to get to OT, Leeds looked tired tonight , the travel today and short turn around will not do them any favours, mind you we didn't cover ourselves with glory last night, think Friday will be a good indicator as to where we are at, I think we can win on Friday, also hopefully win a home semi final to get to OT, then as we all know it's what happens on the night.

| I've posted my opinions on Southstander
I think that we will beat Cas at home on Thursday but I'm not sure whether or not it would be worth us going full tilt to beat the Giants in order to win the LLS trophy should Wigan beat Saints this week, as they then could wrap up the trophy by beating Cas at home in their final super 8's game
IMO the Grand Final is the major prize to win in any season, I also still believe that we are still the best side in the top 4 despite our 2 league defeats since Wembley
Have the club taken the view that a couple of defeats and not winning the LLS is no big deal should Wigan's results mean that they overtake us and are saving everything for the last 2 games of the season and the ones that really matter the most?
Maybe its me being unrealistic here but I've always been an optimist and I think that we will win the GF this season

| I find it amazing that we still have a small chance at the LLS after our away form this year

Four good teams left in the race.
The fact is that if any one of them put in two very good performances then they can win the big prize. I'm really looking forward to the battle, but also hope that in the next few years would love to see see six or eight teams battling it out at this stage of the season.

In some ways it's a bit worrying. I keep thinking this has been a poor season for Wigan. How poor must it have been for nearly everyone else?

Very true - the other way of looking at it is how well could Wigan have done if our away form had been anything like decent. So many poor losses away from home - and still we are level with Leeds at the top of the league.

| Not really sure what the debate is here. We should try to play well and win our games - if it gets us the shield then great. Don't forget there's a much bigger financial prize on offer as well as qualification for the World Club Series.
I agree with Rogues - if Warrington, Hull and Catalans (amongst others) can start to get a grip, we could have a really exciting format.

It’s been a real mix bag kind of season.
We’ve turned out some awful performances this season, the likes of which haven’t been seen since 2006 or the Noble era – The CC defeat to Hull KR, Cas and Cats away spring to mind. Defeats are part and parcel of sport but capitulations like that are hard to swallow.
On the other side of the coin there’s been some great performances – Leeds at the Magic Weekend, Wire a few weeks back, Saints on Good Friday and even our spirited loss to Brisbane will live long in the memory.
I guess the question is this – if we win the GF does that make up for the real mixed bag of a season that we’ve had?
This won’t sit well with some on here but for me a GF win will be a massive achievement and one that I’ll obviously enjoy. Shaun Wane will have proven his critics (of which I’m a massive one) wrong and he’ll have proved the double season wasn’t a flook. BUT there will always that voice at the back of mind that thinks that a good proportion of this season has not only been unenjoyably to watch but frankly unacceptable as well.
My hope is that we win the GF this season and then we take a relatively settled side into next season. That inturn should give us belief and more importantly the consistency that many fans such as myself want to see.

| We have been consistently good at home and consistently poor away from home until the last few months. Trying to be objective, we have probably been luckier with injuries this season than our main competitors. Last season due to an injury crisis we had to blood promising youngsters and this season we have reaped the benefits. Sky rightly praised Hull for their youngsters on Friday, but omitted to mention that we had Hampshire, Gildart, Burgess, Williams and Connor Farrell all playing well too.
We are still largely a young team with Bowen, O'Loughlin, Smith, MMc, Faz and Joel providing experience. I personally, would like us to win the LLS. I know it's an unpopular view on here, but for me it's a trophy worth winning. One of my better recent memories is the massive come back at Hull KR for SWs first trophy.
We've overcome a poor start to the season and the horrendous cup defeat to be joint top. We are rightly second favourites to Leeds, but we may be stronger right now. Of course they have won the cup, and that makes it a good season for them come what may. They have recruited well, with Cuthbertson my MoS., but they look tired.
I have a hunch that Huddersfield may surprise some people, so I'm not really sure who I want in the semi. A home tie is a must. But if we play the Giants the pressure is all on us to perform.
We may find out how strong Saints are on Friday though the game will count for little as I expect us to beat Cas.
I honestly think that there is little to choose between the top 4. Luck, injuries and refereeing decisions could all play a part in who gets to OT, and who wins it.
Whether we win it or not, we have a degree of stability for next season and can only get stronger. There is a lot of player turnover at our rivals and they may or may not be as strong. Our big problem over replacing Lockers has been answered. John Bateman has been a revelation and is easily our player of the season and long term 13.

| 3 losses in a row for Leeds now...
If you said after we lost away at Headingley that we'd still be in with a shout at top with 2 games to go, I simply wouldn't have believed it. Cracking performance from Cas tonight.

| Cas are a good side. Really I think they're a better side than Huddersfield, but a few poor results this year have let them down. Powell has still done an excellent job, though.
Hall got a couple of tries, but he didn't look the WBW tonight.
