| Is it just me who feels a touch sorry for Hampshire as in the last two he has been left out of the squad only to be asked to slot in at the last minute for an 'injured' Tomkins.
Tonight I heard 'Hampshire's not done much tonight', well in my view I couldn't see any errors even if there were no Tomkinsesque breaks, for one he was one of few who actually knows how to hold onto the ball and from every high kick, he took the ball well.
Sam looked like he did want to be out there so I feel it is Wane keeping him off to protect for the CC but im sure I'm not the only one who when ST is missing the old 'well we've lost already' comes out.
Put Hampshire on the trip to Catalan and it may sound stupid but five him a go even if only for 2nd half also I'd take him to Wembley as he has done brilliant when called on.

| Shows a lot of potential for such a young lad, seems to position himself well. If you're not happy with him ........

| I think he's done well. Seems to be fine under the high ball and hes not scared of running the ball back into the line. Couldn't really fault him tonight.

| I think he will have a great future at Wigan, he has that spark about him that you rarely see in players, plus he isn't prone to f*ck ups like alot of young players that come through.

| Great future at Wigan if we keep hold of him. His performances have been solid, people just don't notice it because they're comparing him to Tomkins. He's been superb in my opinion.

| I thought he looked fine tonight. We lost it in the forwards.

| I think he is wasted at FB. Great potential.
Why oh why they have the current prevailing idea in RL that halfbacks with pace/flair should be placed at full back I have no idea ?
He should be in the halves as he is far better than those 2 we have at the moment.
Both Smith and Green aren't good enough for Wigan.
I'm not just singling these two out either, as there's a few current players that aren't up to Wigans high standards.

| He was fine tonight - there were other players that needed to buck their ideas up. Powell, Luaki, Mossop. We made it too easy for them...

Agreed. Yet again, I feel we missed Lockers a lot more than we missed Sam.

| He's impressed me every week. How many 18 year old stand offs can jumps in at full back at a moments notice and be safe as houses, and cause so much damage if given too much space? I think he will be the next big thing if we keep hold of him

Me either but watch it happen if Sam leaves and Wane keeps his job.

My old Dad often regales me with tales of one of our best ever stand off halves, Ces Mountford
( 1940s/1950's).
Apparently, even though Mountford was short of stature, his 'speed off the mark' was devastating.
rlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecil_Mountfordrl
John Ferguson was also devastating.
Not so much his speed, but he was almost unique in that he was at top speed in one step. Just check him out for his first try at Wembley in 1985.
We need speed like this 20 out from our opponents try line, not 10 yards from or even behind our own try line.
Hampshire (and Sam Tomkins) could win a match playing up front near the oppositions line rather than trying to run the full length of the field.
It's this burst of pace that splits defences wide open............always has.

He did everything that was asked of him with the platform laid by our powder puff pack. He created the space for the Charnley try and win us at least 1 penalty with his pace on kick returns.
Don't get me wrong he did not set the match in fire, but given the opportunities he had he went well.
I feel if Green had his pass selection right last night and not keep hitting the lead runner but put it out wide Rocky would have had far more opportunities with ball in hand.
