33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

He included him because until anything is confirmed which could be anytime with Wigan then as far as anyone is concerned he'll be a Wigan player in 2014 until someone announces otherwise then that is the facts the only ones he currently has got wrong are Prescott & Laukaki I fully expect both to be with other clubs in 2014.

Why? Both Prescott and Lauaki are under contract until the end of 2014

[b:2q2mjndn]"What was it like out there Sam?"[/b:2q2mjndn]
"F*cking hard mate"
Queensland great Sam Backo live on telly to nine's Tim Sheridan after being named man of the match in a state of origin game in 1988.: |
|
| I think Hansen and Lauaki will go to New Zealand warriors and link back up with Tommy next season but i cant see Sam Tompkins leaving for at least another 12 months, he owes us nothing but i do believe he'l stay, if he does get snapped up though i hope Lenagan gets over a million for him. I would though like to see him go if neccessary in 2 years time then bring back matty russell. I think Matty was the only back in our youth system with a skill set similair to Sams or at least the potential to develop it, in other words he was also a freak of nature.

Well Prescott simply isn't good enough for Wigan and is far too injury prone to rely on short or long term, now let's face it it has no bearing whatsoever wether they are under contract until the end of next season as contracts are not worth the paper they are written on as has been proven with Mossop and probably will be proven with Farrell as anyone that expects the 5 years from Farrell is either dreaming or deluded either is very likely with certain Wigan "fans", Plus Lauaki clearly isn't wanted at Wigan and nobody will convince me his lack of an appearance this season is due to injury even had he had a reoccurrence of an injury we'd have heard about it by now.

Prescott would walk into any SL team's front row. He's a very very good front rower. His injury record is a worry, but, if when he does come back he can remain injury free for the remain injury free until the end of his contract, he will get another deal.
Eric is 'Injured' but has been rumoured a fall out with Wane, probably won't be with us next year, unless this is sorted out.

| If Prescott is released then Wire and Saints never mind Salford will be kicking his front door down with a contract.
Wire have any number of 30 somethings in their squad and their pack.
Saints need an experienced prop and quickly.
Salford will buy any quality player to build a squad and Noble has coached Prescott.
I do hope that when he does return he can have a good injury free run and when its time to talk he gets another deal.

| I think Wigan would be stupid to let Prescott go......... no world beater but a solid player
I don't think S.Tomkins will leave the club until his contact says so

Assuming the rumours are true regarding Lauaki. I've left Gelling out because I don't know how long he signed for, can't see anything on the net.
Edit: just seem he signed till the end of this season with an option for an extra year, depends whether it's in the clubs favour or not I suppose

| Exciting times ahead, especially when you consider leeds/wire have a few pivot players that aren't getting any younger. Sam will go, whether it's this year or next, I think we just have to accept it, he's a young lad with ambition, I could go on and on about the salary cap and how it's the sports fault, because it is, but the fact is that he will go. Personally, with our youth development and the age of this squad, I believe that with or without Sam we are on the brink of Wigan dominance again. Star players leaving happens in all sports. Ronaldo, beckham, torres (when he was good) etc etc. Clubs get through it, nobody is irreplaceable and none of us know what IL may or may not have up his sleeve. Lets face it, SL is a poor standard, in fact it's awful outside the top 4/5. Without Sam I'm pretty confident we'd still be a top 4 team this season. Iv heard good things about Hampshire becoming a number 1, his problem will be, he'll constantly be compared to Sam by our fans if he does end up in that position, we must be patient and let his young squad grow into a champion team.
