Looks like we now have more options for next year
www.wiganwarriors.com/WContent.a ... &type=news
Dont know much about him apart from he is highly rated as a back rower. What are peoples thoughts?
We will potentially have a huge backline if some of the potentials make the spot(s) there own.
EDIT - typo corrected

| I would love to see him have a run. He has good hands and seems to understand the game as it flows, putting him in the right position to defend and attack.
He is a big lad and is used to doing the hard work, but with the right training he could be awesome at centre or the second row.
We seem to be building a few players in this mould and it could be gerat for the team long term to have such a powerful and fast back line.
Watch this space eh !

| So we'll have two second rowers (Hughes and Lloyd) competing for the left centre spot, and a centre (Gelling) competing for a second row spot. I wonder if Wane will start training Iain Thornley at second row now to complete the set

| In view of the fact that there are so few centres around, it makes sense to give young, mobile forwards a look.

| At the start of last year when I watched the under 20's I said that Lloyd looked like he could be a decent option at centre so I won't go back on that without at least seeing him play there.
It's not quite the same as moving someone like Hughes into the centres because Lloyd is still relatively new to the game and therefore his best position might not have been found yet. He was a centre or fly half in rugby union so you'd expect him to have at least some of the skills required for an outside back.
Versatility can help a young player get some game time if their favoured position isn't available, even if it just gives them a better chance of making the bench.

| Conversions from Second Row to Centre and vice versa happen all the time. Non story really.....in the sense that he's looking at this as an option.

| I hope we get to see all of the young pretenders on Sunday it will be great to see who's likley to get games this year and seperate the Boys from the Men, aslo there a lot of divided opinions on here from time to time so it will be good to see if what people say about various players is displayed on the pitch come sunday! Either way ive been deprived of Rugby League for too long now so the game is good timing!

| SW has named 24 players for the game.
Keeping up with the interchanges will be fun.

| Players who can play variety of positions are invaluable in the modern day game. Especially now with 10 interchanges.

That's why I would prefer too see Sam Powell or Liam Carberry in the squad rather than Logan Tomkins.

Agreed. Don't rate Logan. If his second name was different I doubt he'd be at the club

No further news on Carberry leaving?

No I was surprised when I saw his name on the team sheet. It was only a rumour but the source is usually very reliable
