What an awful comment. Said by somebody who has obviously never had the experience of playing Full Back and dealing with those type of kicks. The vast majority of Full Back's in the league wouldn't have caught them.

By your own yardstick Sam Tomkins should never be in Wigan colours again either.

Wellens would have caught it. Well, he probably wouldn't have got there, but if he did he would have caught it. By the way, that line won't work, I already think Wellens is two years out of date and we should be exploring other in house options in that position.

The irony is that an under 20's match Murphy's parents were saying how Russell wasn't good enough under the high ball to play FB. That was truly dreadful tonight. Doubt we will see him again now. Might see him in the same style jersey but it will be in Leigh.

Must be strange not being able to blame the ref or the RFL.

My scapegoat was around 12 players on that pitch in cherry and white not being mentally good enough. Sinfield was just awesome.

Anybody who as ever played fullback will know what a horrible and lonely place it is when that happens. All you keyboard warriors who have never played are jumping on his back over one mistake.
Yes it cost us but even the greatest fullbacks drop bollox, Billy Slater is a prime example.

How many times as Sam let it bounce?dropped it but no one would leave him out of the team. Murphy showed enough attacking ability tonight to show that he as a future at the Warriors

If you want a scape goat blame Wane for not giving Murphy some games when Tommy was out injured. Instead he went with Lockers at 6 (which didn't work v Leeds in the cup semi final as it never does against the better sides) and so once Sam was injured we had a rookie in the key no 1 position.

All of this, don't think the lad did too bad tonight. I'm just glad that those of you that come on here to knock him have f'all to do with the game.

Not Jack Murphy's fault we had no real gameplan and learned very little from the CC semi- final.
Not his fault he was given very little game time during the season as we went all out for the (very) minor premiership.
Not his fault we had no idea how to take a short kick off at the end of the game because we barely practised one all season.

He'll be a good player for Wigan if he is given game time and Sam is moved to 6 to improve our tactical kicking.
Which will not happen unfortunately.
