| Bit rich calling him a cheat. Lazy and slack tackle. Got what he deserved and can play in the final.

He only got 1 match, so he will play in the final.

He's missed the transfer deadline.

I hate it when people say this when it is obviously no true and it is a very poor excuse. How was it lazy and slack? He had a clenched fist and a stiff swinging arm and his intent was obvious, there was nothing slack and lazy about it. Lazy and slack would have been just flopping on the player as he was going down or is loose grap at a player that results in a high tackle. What Maguire did certainly wasnt lazy and/or slack and I am very surprised he only got 1 match.

Where there's a will there's a way, maybe Builth Wells Wire is right and Saints will find a way to get him into their side.

I'm not, I expected leniency for a Leeds player. And let's not count our chickens, he can appeal. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up with just a fine.

| I've just seen it for the first time.
Lucky lad. There can be no serious defence of that although i'm sure the Leeds fans will disagree. He meant that, make no bones about it and the only real difference with the McIlorum one is that he's still got hold of the ball when he trys to take his head off.
McGuire lost control and he's so lucky that he's still got a chance of playing in a grand final because frankly, he shouldn't have!

I'm of the opposite opinion, reckless challenge yes, don't believe for one second it was malicious or he meant it, 1 game ban is more than sufficient, he's not a dirty lad

IMO he eyes him up as Sinfield puts the initial tackle in, stiffens his arm and goes for him. It was a split seconds loss of control but i'm sure he went for him.
After watching Louie Anderson at our place last week i'm not shocked that somebody eventually snapped but still it was a poor one.
McIlorum got a red and missed 65 minutes of the game on top of his three game ban. In a one game ban for McGuire makes him a lucky, lucky boy.

| It was lazy as the player was going down and was at waist height when Danny hit him with a bent swinging arm.
You can not compare the two tackles. One was at full height and one was at waist height. One game is fair and if he appeals then silly lad as it can be increased / decreased or left the same. Not worth the risk. Also a careless tackle around the head at any height deserves an automatic one match ban.

It was not lazy. He had intent, a clenched fist and a swinging arm, how is that lazy? The player was tackled and, as you say, was going down anyway. The lazy thing would have been either to do nothing, make a token grap at the player or flop on the player as he was going down. What Maguire did was premeditated because he had spat his dummy out and lost the plot and was intentional, he saw an easy target and went for it, it was certainly not lazy.
