| Got to go for a big pack/bench for me. Plus, the inevitable banning of MM will mean a more creative 6/7/9.
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Charnley
3. Goulding
4. Carmont
5. Richards
6. Finch
7. Tommy
8. Lima
9. Smith
10. Mossop
11. Hansen
12. Hock
13. O'Loughlin
14. Dudson
15. Lauaki
16. Farrell
17. Fielden
Lockers to cover halves and hooker. Farrell to cover lockers.

O'Loughlin and Smith both to chip in and spell Tommy at 9 with Ginger Faz coming into 13.
Tommy has to play 9 being the best 9 at the club. For me Smith has alot to offer at halfback with his superb kicking game.

I'd go with that side, Tommy and Finch is a proven halves combination and I'd rather Tommy be wearing 7 than 9 for that reason.

I would pick one from Dudson and Fielden in this game as they both were clearly lacking match fitness. I thought Fielden was the better and more involved of the 2 though so he gets my vote.

A big strong pack there, Fielden and Dudson both shown enough to warrant a place ahead of Lauaki.

Picking two props who are likely to be lacking match fitness does seem like an unnecessary risk. Fielden seemed to do a bit more against Saints which will help his cause, although Dudson does have some very good form earlier in the season counting in his favour. Fielden is perhaps more of an unknown. His experience is definitely something that would count in his favour.
Lauaki looked good to go for the under 20's so if Wane goes with four props I imagine they'd be Lima, Mossop, Lauaki and Fielden. If he goes with five then Flower will probably be the other prop included but for me that's a waste. He's just not really effective as a prop and I don't see what he's do against a big pack like Catalans. He can cover loose forward but not as well as Farrell can.
Something you need in playoff games are people in form and for me Jack Hughes has done well enough to be included. Packing three props onto the bench who either haven't been able to build up any form or aren't exactly in great form is possibly just increasing the chances of the pack getting beaten. Still, I'd be very surprised if Hughes did make the bench.
Leuluai and Smith should rotate at hooker and scrum half. Tommy's link with the players on the right side and with Finch could be key but he's also a much stronger defender than Smith and strong defence in the forwards could be important. Smith has a stronger kicking game so it would help if he could have some time at scrum half to put in some accurate kicks.
I'm expecting the team to be;
Tomkins; Charnley, Goulding, Carmont, Richards; Finch, Leuluai; Lima, Smith, Fielden/Dudson; Hansen, Hock, O'Loughlin
Subs - Mossop, Lauaki, Flower, Farrell.

In attack, so would I. But I'd rather have Leuluai defending at 9 than Smith.

Agreed, MM's ban will be most felt in the defensive line.

I agree but also disagree, I would also prefer Tommy defending at 9 than Smith but at the same time I'd prefer to have him than Smith defending at 7 outwide on the right. I think its harder to defend outwide and with Tommy defending at 7 we look much more solid down the right defensively. Tommy compliments Hansen and Goulding well down that channel.

| Tommy or smith to start at hooker, the other at scrum half.
One of dudson, fielden, flower, lauaki to miss out (unless wane decides to play Logan off the bench).
Personally, I'd go:
Tomkins
Charnley
Goulding
Carmont
Richards
Finch
Smith
Lima
Leuluai
Mossop
Hansen
Hock
O'Loughlin
Dudson
Lauaki
Farrell
Fielden

| I think Fielden is good to go from the start. Start him with Lima then bring Mossop and Lauaki on. Lauaki gets far too much stick on here. Hes a good prop who goes about his job with minimal fuss and adds size to our pack.
