Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

We are currently on a run of 13 wins in a row.
When was the last time we had such a run? We must be close to some records?
What are the records for winning runs in super league etc.?
We looks set to contiue with some favourable fixtures before the cup semi.

Apparently our best unbeaten run in Super League is 11 games back in 1998. At least that's what it says on the Super League website.

This current run includes 3 cup games I think. So a win on friday would see us equal our record. I wonder that the super league record is. |

If I remember correctly, in 70 -71 Wigan went about 31 league games unbeaten but they got beaten early in the cup (by Swinton, I think). Eventually lost to HKR away.
In 86 - 87 Wigan only lost in the league twice - both to Warrington, the 2nd game on New Year's Day! After losing to Oldham in CC at the beginning of February, they then went unbeaten until October 87. Lost at home to Halifax (or Bradford) the week after winning WCC against Manly and Lancashire Cup Final aginast Warrington.
Seems like yesterday!

We are on a good run, and it's made even sweeter when you think of the bad times. Like the run between 11/02/06 and 9/06/06. 18 games, 3 wins. Hudds twice and wakey in the cup

I remember predicting a certain win away at Leeds in the cup in 2010.
Also against Widnes away this year.
And the first game against Hudds.
