| I watched the match this morning, It was an incredible fast paced match, and even more incredible considering it was the first game of the season. Rabbitoh's totally dominated for the most part and to lose in that fashion will have been heart breaking and a tough lesson.
Watched a few matches this weekend and the pace of some of them have been unbelievable, also good to see Graham and Burgess both impressing massively. didn't see the west's game so not sure how Ellis played. But it has been promising to see some British players doing well over there lately.

| After watching that game yesterday it was noticible that Souths are not as wrestle focused as we were, there was still an element of third man in to complete the tackle but the initial contact and wrestle wasnt as prominent.
I dont know if this is Madge changing tact slightly (as the aussie press hate the wrestle 1 million times more than us) or if it will come more over the newxt few weeks but it will be interesting to see.
Iv watched every game from the NRL this weekend and the standard has gone up from last year, most games were close and going in to the last few minutes could of been won by either team. There was high class attack and defence on show and the benefit that will have on Ellis, Graham, Burgess x 3, Reed and Widdop will start to pay benefits at International level

| just an idea about the NRL, why doesn't I.L. have a word with his counterpart at Rabbitohs and see if we can send Deacon / Harris (or other coaches) over there for 6 months to work in the set up they have. We pay them but they get the benefit of the coaching set-up and bring that knowledge back to Wigan

| Im not convinced its our coaches that are behind just the player pool they have over there is un-matchable for every 1 star we have Sam, Hall etc they have 5 and these players have the benefits of City v Country S.O.O and regualr tests v NZ which gets them used to high preasure games and performing at their peak. Hopefully the amateur game switching to summer will start benefiting the professional game.

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

| Quality game- bunnies unlucky...hope they bounce back and its a big yr for them.

it kind of looked like souths was stuck in the old style last season maybe he just found it hard to break the old habbits
as it didnt look like a team managed by madge. excellent finish to the game as was the majority of the games. bookmakers in aus must have a nightmare trying to work out the odds for the nrl game as they are so tight majority of the time.

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

| The Manly - New Zealand Warriors game on Saturday was amazing. Some errors but for excitement and entertainment it would be worthy of a grand final over here. I suppose it was last seasons NRL's finalists

There was a post on the Wire board about himbeing out of contract i think it was next season and asking should they bid for him. He looked ok and carried on his improved form from last season.
