| He was pathetic and clearly bladdered to think he could take the lot of them on
But the goading of the Cas fans in their stand with songs about 'going home to beat my wife' where plain stupid. Then they proceeded to goad him as he was dragged away.
Lovely situation overall...

| The whole situation was embarrassing for both sides.
Reacting to banter with violence is just utterly as thick as it gets. However standing in with Cas fans singing anti Cas/Yorkshire songs obviously don't help.

Wigan fans have stood down that touchline singing for years and have never had any trouble. I cant comment on what happened as I didnt go to the game due to being at Wembley but as I said, Wiganers have stood there for years.

| I walked out of ground past that end after the match and all the stewards where not happy at all, sounded like a lot of anti yorkshire chants had been going on. I'm sure we all know what chant's these are, and whilst every Club sing them, and again taking into account that at Castleford you are open to stand where you want, standing along the sidelines near all the Cas fans singing that kind of stuff isn't exactly clever is it?
What that cas fan did was disgusting and I'm certainly not condoning his actions, , but it doesn't look good for either club imo. If its true that he wasn't chucked out then that's pretty shocking too.
The fans involved didn't exactly help themselves by goading him like they did once the stewards where there either.
I'll be honest, I was confused as to why a group that are there to improve the atmosphere decided to stand on their own generally amongst the Cas fans instead of behind the sticks with the majority, but each to their own.

| I saw it kick off, and I have to say both sides behaved appallingly.
There's nothing wrong with singing at a rugby match, and the Cas fan should not have approached the Wigan lot as he did. If only for his own safety.
But then gang mentality kicked in and that's when it all went off. I don't care who starts it, but when 20 gang up on 1 or 2 people, then it's wrong and all the tit for tat "who started it" stuff goes out the window.
Sorry, but I'm not comfortable with it.

I agree with that in part. They weren't with Cas fans as such - the Wiganers were on both sides of the pitch up to the 10 metre lines, so it's not as if they were bunched in with a load of Cas fans.
I'm glad they segregated themselves anyway. It meant they weren't near me.

It didn't all go off. The drunkard Castleford fan swung at a 15 year old kid who's friends reacted by calling him a bald . I thought it showed admirable restraint when they could have easily all piled in.

Why comment when you were not there ??
The Wigan fans stood behind the sticks yesterday FYI
The small group of late teenagers for 70 mins sang merrily away to themselves and were fun, but in the last 10 mins the changes and got crude, slightly aggressive and let themselves down.
At that point the stewards should of stepped in but didn't so the "Fat bald man" ( he was at least 50 come on) stepped in instead. He made a right fool of himself and when the group taunted him directly he lashed out.
The stewards again failed when the didn't kick him out.
So in summary an apology from us decent Cas fans for this one tool who I will be reporting the club and hopefully he will be banned.

What he said.
The whole event was thoroughly distasteful on both sides. I hope never again to have to hear a father explaining to his young son that this doesn't usually happen.
