| Just watched the end of the match again... given all the hatred and vitriol that's being directed towards Sam Tomkins by other fans for both "winding up" the opposition and the V-sign, interesting how no-one's talking about Clarkson's attempted winding up of Joel Tomkins just before the final drop-out. Or the Leeds players' behaviour at the end, including Danny McGuire grabbing Tommy by the collar and trying to head-butt him for some reason.
Sore losers. I'm feeling less sorry for them now. With the exception of Bailey and McGuire, who I couldn't feel any less sorry for, Leeds is made up of mostly decent players who usually let their rugby do the talking. Sinfield in particular, I will defend him to the hilt as a player because he's a decent player, a good captain for Leeds, and a very good role model. Losing in a cup final is never nice, and although everyone's talking about a few wrong decisions that went our way, there were just as many if not more that went Leeds' way earlier in the match. They probably balanced each other out. But to those players, it's understandable if they feel hard done to. Hopefully they'll watch the match back and say, "Yeah, alright, we got the rub of the green for some of the match too." I'm sure Sinfield will be disappointed with some of his charges for letting the side down and giving the impression that Leeds are very bad losers.
But when players like McGuire start behaving like that, I have to ask, which is the better role model... Sam Tomkins who stuck 2 fingers up at (allegedly) people who booed him on international duty, or Danny McGuire who thought it was ok to try and intimidate another player with threats of unneccessary violence?
Not in any way trying to suggest Tomkins is vindicated, I hope he gets a good ticking off and conducts himself as he does in interviews in future, but being a good loser is just as important as being a good winner, and Mr McGuire needs to realise that and stop being a little bitch.
For the rest of the Leeds Rhinos, in particular Ben Jones-Bishop, very well played and bad luck. For the sensible fans, commiserations. For the idiot fans that reside on Southstander, serves you right. You know who you are
Oh, a special mention for McDermott as well. His after-match interview was very well handled.

| McGuire is the scum of the league along with mathers. 2 players who like to dish it out and give the verbal's but are not man enough to do it man to man.
His niggling tactics that he seems to have developed in the last couple of years tell a sad story of desperation due to him failing to live up to the billing he was once given as a youngster.
I took no greater satisfaction than seeing Tominks hand off McGuire in a tackle Mcguire really should have made to see him plant it under the sticks after rounding Webb.

| I had to laugh at Mathers' reaction to the forward pass decision last week... that whole head-shaking, imaginary-baseball throwing thing, I imagined this Southern-USA drawly voice to go with it, with him saying things like "Oh, maaaaan, you gotta be kiddin' me, maaaaan, that pass was good, maaaaaaaaaaaan, we like so totally scored, maaaaaaan..."

You've shown up your ignorance there - McGuire has been poor this season (still not recovered from his serious knee injury) but last year he was in the best form of his career ask any Leeds fan.
As for him "liking to dish it out" you couldn't be more wrong - he's a typical stand off and generally keeps well out of the way of any biff. Oh and given that he went for Leuluai after a cheap shot in the tackle isn't that the direct opposite of [i"not man enough to do it man to man"[/i

| On the contrary, McGuire has the world at his feet as a kid, rated as one of the best prospects in the game, even by the Austalians, even Freddy Fittler said he was the best junior half he had ever seen.
He is still a very dangerous player but has never achieved his potential. The older he gets the more sly digs he throws in the tackle and the mouthier he gets. The more idiotic he gets the more of a liability he becomes in defence trying to man up and play the tough guy.
Mush rather have Burrow on the field for 80 than McGuire.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Burrow was Leeds best player today by far, hes doing great at this interchange hooker malarky, a shout for England perhaps? McGuire on the other hand is just declining in the way Leeds as a club are. By now he should have himself nailed on as a true great of the game but he just hasnt developed at all and still plays like a raw teenager.

As an opposition fan I've always hated it when Burrow gets the ball, you always get the feeling he'll break or dodge the tackle, and a lot of the time he does. I think McDermott used him prefectly today and he caused us some real problems.

| When I've watched the match back now I can't believe how bitter they all are in the BBC studio. Davies appears to me at least to be fuming that we won. Constantly going on about how the ref's errors cost Leeds the match. Even Noble are former coached backed Leeds to win from the start, and like Davies was upset that Wigan had won. It has to be watched really to appreciate all the nuances from them both.
