| I understand that the cup final build up will begin at 1.30 on the red button and 2.10 on BBC1, is there anyway of recording this interactive stuff? Pathetic BBC as usual. I assume the post match stuff will be on red button too!

| Its rubbish. The red button stuff is actually really good normally but if you are at the game there's no way to see it. All the build up/post match stuff should be on the actual channel or they could at least put the red button stuff on iplayer.

| The red button stuff is usually shown on the BBC HD channel (dont confuse with BBC1 HD), but who knows with it being Rugby league ?
Im recording it in HD, and i wish it was in 3D like wimbledon, although i can convert it to simulated 3D HD, should be awesome.

Couldn't agree more!!
Its a pet hate of mine and its not just BBC as Sky do the same. So many times people tell me that there were some really good shots of our stay behinds or great interviews which I can never watch back opn record when we get home as their on red button.
I wonder if someone was sat in my house and pressed the red button if the sky plus would pick it up as part of the recording??!!!! If so que mother in law!!!!

| On the BBC2 related thread the other week lots of people were telling us not to be worried...
I'm afraid this is yet more evidence of the lack of respect the BBC is showing to RL...

If you have freeview then channel 301 is the red button channel. If your watching via cable or sat then your screwed as they have more streams.
It was the same last year, red button before and after which started as soon as Wire lifted the cup so they could rush off for the football scores. And last year ko was delayed due to F1 practice.

Not so much "the red button channel" but "a red button channel". They can only show on of the streams and I'll put a safe bet on that on Cup Final day the freeview stream will be showing extra Formula 1 footage of some kind.

| I agree that putting it on the red button is wrong, however putting that aside I personally feel the BBC build up to any game and post-match analysis is far better than that of Sky. They actually discuss RL instead of Stevo and Eddie bleating off about something completely irrelevant. I'd sooner have Dave Woods/John Kear/Johnathan Davies commentating than Stevo and Eddie. Throw Ray French in with Eddie and Stevo. That'll be a barrell o'laughs.

Yes. And why? Because they are not re-cycling the same opinion we have already heard during the commentary.

| I'd be very careful of criticising the BBC,as the viewing figures for both the quarter finals and semi finals were poor,so you may well find that you won't be able to criticise their coverage soon,as there won't be any.

Wrong on those points for the semi finals.the saturday game was about normal which is good compared to the clash with Final score. Still managed to beat the Union game which was shown before.
Sunday game did better than the Saturday game and beat Eastenders which was shown at the same time. And had a peak of 1.7 million tuning in at the end of the game.
