i know it's earlyto be talking about this but in my opinion paul deacon will probably retire or play a less demanding role.the lad is very important to wigan we are not the same team without his organising skills.finchy is getting better week in week out any thoughts of who we may play along side him.tomkins is better at full back i don't think he has the organising skills he is better playing with freedom.

Joe Mellor is the future.

We've been switching Tommy between the halves and hooker for years now, another year will not kill us. If Mellor proves himself to be a starter, Tommy to 9 and McIlorum on the bench.

He doesn't have a great kicking or passing game, and that injury took away his greatest asset, his pace (he's probably only lost about a yard, but that is the first yard which is vital)

I disagree here Rogues. Mellor has the potential to be a quality player and I think he will make it at wigan. The injury seemed to knock his confidence for a couple of games earlier on in the season, but that type of injury would. However, since he has gone onto dual registration he has started to grow as a player and is playing some great off the cuff stuff. At his age group the stand out players where marsh,lomax and mellor. Don't write him off yet, I see a lot of sam tomkins in him when sam was in the reserves and he scored a beauty of a try in the reserves final against Saints the other year.

I hope you're proven wrong but I have to admit that doesnt happen often.
