| Personally for the next game I would go with Charnley over Roberts, why? He's a better player who offers more effort and desire that Roberts.
To boot (no pun intended) he's a good goal kicker-this is an attribute which potentially could have won us the game tonight.
I'm feed up with Roberts, he's an import which offers next to nothing. 9 good games in 3 seasons for me, isn't good enough for our team.

| Time to go with Charnley imo. He had a poor game against Wire but so what, most players did. He's the future of our backline, we need to stick with him and show some faith I think. Roberts is wasted on us currently, offers nothing and is hindering Charnley's development

Agreed. So disappointed with Roberts. Personally I'd drop him or if we must play him at FB. I'd sooner see him dropped and played in the reserves at FB until he can offer something to the first team.
Been a poor winger from day 1.

| Charnley without doubt. Roberts isn't up to playing for the first team.

No more games on the wing for Roberts for me, hes been ripped to pieces every time he plays there and offers nothing currently. More importantly Sam needs to move to 6, id be willing to shift the team around to accomodate this, so id consider sticking Roberts at fullback as i still think he deserves a proper chance at fullback.

I've been a fan of Sam at 1 but we've got nothing going on in the halves. So much chopping and changing. Tonight we looked like a team with no direction from the halves.
Personally the man we need is Deacon. We look 100 times better when he's on.

| Don't we have Roberts for another season after this? Someone needs to make a tough decision as the guy isn't contributing and he must be on a big salary.

Not sure, I think he came on a 3yr deal which means this is his last.

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

| Charnley, he may make some mistakes, but as least he's learning for the future.

| When Pat is back I think it won't be a case of Robert or Charnley, but Goulding moving back to the right wing.
Played well tonight considering he didn't get any decent ball all night. Will be interested to see the stats as he did a lot of hard work up the middle making useful yards.
Took his try extremely well too.

| Roberts all day
With game time he will come good.
He will only do so playing at 1 though and on top of that, Sam needs to be back at 6.
Anyway, Roberts for me
Charnley will cone through in time

He signed a 3 yr but arrived a year early which effectively made it 4. Expires 2012.

| I'd be very surprised if Roberts manages to get back to the form he showed before his ankle injury. Of all the injuries in RL the Achilles is among the worst to fall victim to. Paul Newlove was never the same player after he damaged his. He lost much of his lateral movement (sidestep, swerve etc.) - which was problematic because almost all of his attacking game was a product of lateral movement.
I hope it works out for Roberts, but I suspect you may have seen the best of him.

I agree, why we persist to play a winger who consistently doesn't perform is beyond me. Furthermore he barely seems interested.

Nowt to do with his ankle or Achilles. Was a knee injury.
