| I was just looking through the archives recenlty and noticed 4 players who signed for Wigan but never got round to playing a first team league game!
1. Shem Tatupu. signed in 1995 but never played for the first team.
2. Wendell Sailor. signed in 1999!
3. Mark Hilton. got injured and went back to Warrington
4. Luke Davico played 2 minutes of a FRIENDLEY GAME never to bee seen again.
If anyone can name some more this couldbe a good thread  |

I think Tatupu made 4 apps in the first team, all as sub.

Tatupu played, I remember Neil Harmon taking the ball in thinking he would run over Tatupu, but he got picked up and dumped.

Tatupu played against Halifax in a regal trophy game on the TV and had a stormer, sadly it was a storm(er) in a tea cup as he never played again

Shane Varley* from NZ back in the early 80's I believe.
From what I was told he got off the plane at Manchester having reached a gentlemans agreement with Maurice (who was waiting at CP to complete the deal), but was met by Leigh officials at the airport and signed for them instead....???
* I was told this by a group of Leythers at the time so it could be complete bollox.
