| I don't like knocking Madge but think it was a huge boo boo not having Amos at 1. For last few mins of first half he seemed to be there and he looked sharp and put a neat little grubber into the corner for Pryce to chase and we forced the dropout. Which then lead to the Pryce try. Roberts talent is completely wasted out on the wing hes our most dangerous player with ball in hand, therefore we want him on the ball as much as possible.
That would have also meant Pat back out on left wing his best position up against the poor, inexperienced, small and nervous Foster who we could have murdered with the high kick to the corner.
Did none of the Wigan coaching staff see the Salford game when he got dragged off because he was that awful.
Next week lets see him at the back please Madge

| He needs to get fit before even thinking about a fullback switch.
I can't understand why he's been brought back when he can't even run. When a Saints player broke away from deep in our half he didn't even attempt to get out of second gear and left it to Tuson (I think) to chase him down.
Very strange that he's on the field in this condition.

| At the minute he looks like he did at the start of last season. Hope he's not going to carry on that way. A fit and in-form Amos Roberts that we had early on this season will be a big boost come play-off time

| Get Roberts a few weeks in the reserves to build up his fittness, stamina and confidence. The guy clearly is not fit. We did not need to rush him back as Goulding was putting the ball over the line for fun as is Karl Pryce. Get Roberts fit and on fire for the end of the season and we will be reet.

| I thought he looked sharper as the game went on but he needs time to get his fitness back. I said in the week i'd have him on the wing for a few weeks to really build his fitness up and i'd still just about back that.
By the time the Wire game comes around I think i'd like to see him back at fullback aslong as he isn't carrying an injury. He shouldn't be playing if he's not fully fit.

| Sorry i disagree just watched the replay of the match and Roberts looked fit and sharp imo, to me Roberts can see Tuson is going to catch him and Tuson was alot closer when the initial break happens. All game he was looking for extra work and drifting around behind the play the ball early in the tackle count.
Pat is a great player but imo a wing man. All his strengths are maximised outwide on the wing whilst all Roberts attributes suit being at fullback.

| We might see Amos go to full back next week depending on Pryce's injury.

| Phelps (if fit?) would have been a much better option today than Amos. We were crying out for someone who could open a defence with a pass ala Sean or even Phelps himself.
Roberts was massively off the pace today.

| I was wondering about Phelps today also. What's the score with him? He was brilliant before his injury. Is he still injured? Or just out of favour??...

| Phelps is out injured with a knee problem should be right this week, he has had a rough year with injuries, was playing superb to start then got injured and everytime madge put him in the 20s to regain match fitness he would play superb but then pick up a knock and keep him out again. must be frustrating for the lad. i still think our best option is Phelps at Fullback with roberts and Paaat on the wings, a very impressive back 3 who can all throw the ball around and see gaps appear. This also allows Roberts a bit more freedom to sniff around when it suits him.

Total agree with this.
Amos needs to be at full back.
Makes us more attacking and yeh sometimes Amos choses the wrong option but he is very dangerous.
Another post a read says he isnt fully fit. If he isnt fit then he should not be playing.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Nah play Pryce at FB....
No but really FB is Roberts best position and he must be played there. Pat is also more of a threat on the wing and could have been more effective there yesterday.

I personally think that Phelps is very overated. He played well in one and a half games at the start of the season before getting injured. Since then he has had far more poor games than good ones and this is why he has lost his place and cant get back in the team. I very much doubt that he will get a new contract.

| When at fullback he is the most dangerous player in SL.
