I've posted this on the Saints board, and also mentioned it in the thread about nicking bits of the Eddy End wall, but I thought I'd post a separate thread so that more people would be able to read it.

A steward was attacked at the Good Friday match in the Eddy End. Like I said, I've posted this on the Saints board as well because it is unknown whether the person was from Saints, Wigan or another club entirely.

yeah i did see this happen. lad was stood next to me and all but launched himself up those steps when the hooter went. he'd been an complete t!t all game.

Wouldnt stand at the back near all the d*ckheads if someone paid me too. Hope they catch the knob.

wasnt even at the back. was about half way down.

This happened right in the middle of the stand underneath the crows nest for the cameraman.

not yet. i dont know what sort of information i could give them to be honest, other than what they already know.

Was there a guy with a mohican involved in it?

not to my knowledge. i could only really identify the guy up the ladder to be honest.

Well presumably if you saw the attack, and were standing next to the culprit(s) all game, you have a pretty good description of them. And how do you know what the club already know?

It wasn't the lad who went up the laddder who smacked the steward, as he was being dragged away someone else got involved.

I was stood about 12 feet back, but it was right in front of me. Granted there were numerous people stood in front of me but it was seconds after the hooter - as you can imagine, it was rocking at the time!!

i see. must have been one of his mates who surged forward when the stewards were pulling him off the ladder. probably recognise him if i saw him. i gave them enough funny looks throughout the match. once of em pi$$ed in a pint pot and then knocked it over.

Indeed. About half way down near the ladders. I remember a bald bloke wrestling with a few stewards. I couldn't tell whether he was after another supporter or a steward. After reading that article it was evidently a steward.

I will ask a few of the people around me if they can remember anything else that might be of any use.

Is it them pr*cks that were fighting just before the kick off? that did my nut in! Why fight?! Especially with your own fans! Thinking about it the stewards never came into the stand during that they werent bothered until there was "Noise pollution" from people banging on the corrugated iron at the back.

I'm not saying this isnt a bad thing it definitely is but im just saying I wish they'd done something about them tw*ts fighting tbh. I hope it wasnt them that attacked this guy coz we all wanted them kicked out.

This incident wasn't them. This incident happened underneath the SKY camera as the final hooter sounded.
