| Haha. Fantastic.
The prospect of having the in form Amos Roberts, Pat Richards and Shaun Ainscough running about the place is mouth watering. We have so much pace in our team.
I'm really looking forward to Friday now.

It seems that way. We've had to have a little reshuffle with the injury to Cameron Phelps who should be back either next week or the week after. Depending on form, Ainscough could be returning back to Widnes, but if he shows the form he is very much capable of then MaGuire is true to his word and will keep him in the squad.

I'd tend to agree. However, 2 of the 3 tries we conceded were down his side of the pitch, plus another one which was ruled out.
Personally, I'd leave the 17 unchanged if injuries aren't an issue.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Goulding did really well in the team but he is not a winger, Ainscough is, Goulding was just the suitable choice for that game IMO.
He is clearly picking the team based on how players are playing and who we are playing rather than just being predictable, he is also using subs properly.

IMO thats not quite 100%. we have a big ish squad with lots of talent. lets use it. Its going to be a long season. Share the workload out.

| Good news on both counts.Elima has been outstanding since his move home showing the potential he showed as a kid.
Tough call to drop Goulding if it works out that way, but i for one am not complaining, I see him as being a long term future player for Wigan I do not see that with Goulding, I think for that reason, unless he starts to cost us games Ainscough should get the nod every time over Goulding.

A fair point. Darrell Goulding was asked to do a job and he did it. However to ignore Ainscough's fine form would also be harsh IMO. Goulding's future will be in the centres and not on the wing. Perhaps this might be the factor that has decided the two.
The positive of it all though is competition for places.

I do not think in the new Wigan regime "doing nowt wrong" = retain your position.
We have a very competitive squad especially in the wing position and second row. Players must perform and do something to justify a place.
Wayne Bennett speaks of a clean error column on the stats sheet, in Don't Die with the Music in You, and he always says that is a concern. Players with no errors usually are not lads willing to or able to come up with the match winning play.
