Reports in the Observer suggest that Mick McGuire has not yet chosen a captain for the new season. There is nothing in the report to say he has disregarded Lockers, but that he hasnt yet spoken him to get his thoughts. What that means is anyones guess but if I was Sean O'Loughlin, Id be knocking on his door first thing tomorrow morning.


Which leads me to the question...who do you want as Wigan captain?
There is only one man for me and that is Sean O'Loughlin. Has way too many knockers and would easily be the first man on my team sheet. There is nobody else in SL id rather have captaining my club.

The only likely alternatives I can think of are Deacon, Bailey or Leuluai. Other experienced woudl include Pat or Fielden but I cant think of anything worse.

Lockers with Tommy as VC. Sean is Wigan through and through and just because he doesn't read the riot act behind the posts after we concede a try like a certain Brother-In-Law of his, people deem him not good enough to captain our club. He has captained every single side he has been in - bar GB/England. Taking the captaincy of him would be majorly stupid IMO.

We cannot have a say, we don't know what he is like in the dressing room or behind the scenes, all we see is what happens on the pitch.

Sean for me he has matured into a class player and is a great example to follow, Im unsure as to why Paul Deacon is a candidate as he won't know the team inside out like Sean.
