Just wanted to wish you guys look tonight. Is it 7.30 kick off? I am not able to get up to Belle Vue, but it promises to be a good game. Hope someone keeps us updated here.

Does anyone know whose in the squad, wondered if some of the reserve players who still qualify for the 18's will be dropped back for this game.

Setting off for the game in a minute, really looking forward to it truth be told there is a bit of a buzz around rugby fans in Wakefield about this game.

The conditions are perfect for a good game of rugby mild night not a breath of wind.

Academy lost 12-4 in a tight game at Belle Vue. Deserved winners Wakefield it seems.

They will get a second chance at Orrell next week to try and meet Wakefield at Belle Vue again in the Grand Final.

Wonder if they could do a double header next week with the Reserve Final?

That would be good. Be worth the money. Who are Wigan's potential opponents for next week?

It would be good but I don't think it would happen. An 11am at Orrell would do before the 2pm at JJB.

Castleford or Bradford. They play tomorrow at 1pm.

Was a very tight game but the best team certainly won.

I was slightly dissappointed was very tight with neither team wanting to throw the ball around, very much like a tight first team semi.

Wakefield dominated early doors scoring a nice try in the corner Charnely got totally stood up near the line, leaving a simple pass and walk in for the winger Morton.

Wigan then came back started winning the arm wrestle gaining field position and possession and after a neat kick to the corner left Trinity with no option to take the ball into touch withing a couple of meters from the line. From the scrum simple set move with Wigan's 6 crossing for an easy try, the only time the Trinity defence let itself down all night.

Wigan continued to push for the rest of the half but failed to make the superior field position pay, last 5 of the half Trinity cam back nearly scoring on the bell, and in the following set Wigan brought it away from there line and went the length of the field nearly scoring themselves.

Second half again bit of an arm wrestle but Trinity kicking game and organisation was far superior. Wigan were very one out. Wigan contined to have good field position but looked unorganised and lacking direction.

As the game wore on, Wigan began to get frustrated and a bit of niggle came in, Trinity continued to deffend very well and started to push themselves forward into the game.

A simply penalty directly infront of the sticks gave them an 8 point lead, which they never looked like losing. With 10 to go(ish) a nice attack and chip to the corner resulted in the final try of the game again to Morton I think.

Wigan were out enthused and a poor kicking game and lack of cutting edge near the line, against what was a very good Wakefield defence, was the difference.

Wigan fullback Murphy was our stand out, good last line of defence and real pace going forward.
Good news for me the final will be back at Belle Vue.

Not often i agree with a Wigan fan icon_wink.gif but thats a fair run down of the game and how it panned out Jonh.
