FOR THE REALLY BIG GAMES EXTRA BAR STAFF IS NEEDED. icon_twisted.gif icon_evil.gif

The beer queues were shocking tonight. They are poor for a normal game in truth but 25 minutes one fella I know spent in the queue from 30th minute to just after half time.

Let's start a petition - reply to this!!! icon_cool.gif

It's a wierd one this one, my mates and I went without, purely because we got sick of waiting... you'd think they didn't want to make any money!

it would be better if all the bar staff served. waited all of half time in east stand and didn't move so went without but saw half the staff just serving at apedestrian state, They would'nt get a job in a normal bar!!!

I didnt even bother trying in the Billy Boston stand. The bar staff are pretty slow but I am not sure employing more bar staff would help as there is only so many pumps. Do they still use the multiple pull lager machine that does 4 or 6 pints at once?

People were being ejected from the West stand for expressing their frustrations. Many people had been queueing for 30 minutes and then they closed the bar. Wouldn't it be better to organise the queue a bit better so that people who aren't going to get served are informed that it's not worth them joining the queue. What would be even better would be for them to serve quick enough that people can get served at half time.

I don't know how many fans go the bar during the first half but I suspect it's not much they should spend the first half pouring pint after pint after pint in readiness for the break. I've been to hundreds of football and rugby grounds across the land and the half time prepartion at the JJB is amongst the worst.

Dont think it was staff issue. I think they need more pumps, plus should have pumped more pints on that 8 pints at once thing.

When the que is that big it makes people buy more than normal meaning que is bigger and last longer

If you think it was bad last night then try doing it in the North Stand at a football game icon_eek.gif

My mates joined the queue at 7.25pm.

They arrived with the beer at our seats at 8.20pm - yes, 55 minutes after they started to queue!

Does the stadium owner not realise the loss of profit in not investing in one of those "multi-pouring" pint machines which can dispense several pints at once?
(rlThey have had them for ten years in Cardiffrl)

Maybe its time to consider tendering for the contract at the ground?

Happy to add my name to this thread, normally it wouldn't bother me too much but I opted to get the train last night as I fancied a beer. I just managed to get a couple in before the game, but couldn't get a programme.

As for half time, I stood for a bout 5 minutes without even moving and realised I wasn't going to get a drink before the start of the second half so I gave up. I remember all too well one game a few years ago when I queued for 25 minutes only to get to the front and be told the bar was now closing. I will never fall for that one again.

Whilst we're on poor planning. A great idea to knock the shirts out for £20 last night but as demand was obviously going to be high why not just stock the shirts rather than all the other paraphenalia so as to keep the queues moving?
"How many shirts mate?"
"1large mens and a samall boys"

"forty quid please"
"oh yeah and I'll have two mini kits, a packet of darts flights and a bag of stickers".

I am surprised that they still have not got the multi pouring machines at the ground.

I was at the game with the Mrs and a couple of friends from Leeds, we got a beer a piece but then went down at half time and as soon as i saw the queue i just went back to my seat.

They had the multi pouring machines when we went the ashes in 2005 at old trafford, it was the first time i'd seen them and thought they'd be great for the rugby, i still can't believe they haven't gone for them.

All the extra pints they would serve in one game would probably pay for them
