| According to the SUN newspaper, Gareth Hock is to be given a lifeline by the club and will work within the Junior Development setup at the club...
As long as he is serious about stopping taking that crap... then i think its not a bad idea.

I'm not sure if they can legally make that work - I mean within the RFL's terms of legality - but if they're allowed to, then I'm all for it.

Obviously its the Sun... so the chance of it being true are debatable...
I suppose we will have to wait for an official anouncement.

| I understand people thinking its a bad thing him being kept on in a role at the club and be seen to be given a second chance when he should suffer consequences but do people not think that, working with the junior players, there wouldnt be many better to drill in the fact that doing drugs will catch up on you eventually. Him, having been caught and lost his chance of his playing career for 2 years, will probably get more attention from the young players if talk about avoiding drugs etc ever happen among the junior development, by being able to say first hand what the consequences are of running the risk. Because Im sure Hock, given the chance to go back and say "no thanks" when he was offered Cocaine he probably would now knowing what it would lead to. Hopefully he can stop any young players making the same mistake as he did.

| Personally I'm quite happy for Hock to do some kind of "community service" why he is suspended. He's made a big mistake but we've probably all made a big mistake in one way or another during our lives.
If he sat around for the next two years doing nothing I'd fire him off but if he puts something back into the game at grass roots level then credit him I say.
I've a feeling his wages will be pretty minimal. I mean I don't think we'd have been able to recall Mossop and Goulding if he was still being paid full pelt.

| alexandr Vinokourov - cyclist got found out with drugs (and still suspended)
now works with Astana team
perfectly fine and good news if The Sun is accurate. Nice to see (if true) we aren't dumping him on the scrap heap.
