| there have been alot of threads tonight about why we lost the game. ive read about been caned by thaler, ainscough not dealing with high balls, lack of creativity in attack etc etc.
for me the reason down to the basics of the game. firstly our kicking game was appalling. not once did we split their winger and full back and keep them pinned in their half. we always kicked straight to the fullback/winger and allowed him to make 20 meters or so which allowed a dominate wire pack to give them a great position for last three tackles. if our kick and chase had been of a high standard then would the ainscough high ball situation have happened, probably not. they would not have been in a position to put that kick in. the way defences were tonight, nobody was going the length of the field, they played the territory better than us.
secondly, discipline. even when we kicked the ball dead and had our line set, we gave away stupid penalties. interfering round the ruck. thaler could have caned us tonight. the lying on was embarrassing. you dont often see tony smith clap a decision like he did tonight. sort these two issues out we wont be far off. as much as im disappointed tonight, wire deserved it

| I dont think you can ever put it down to one reason.
Our pack getting owned, our poor kicking game, our poor disipline and our lack of creativity all lead to our downfall.

i didnt, i put it down to two. wire never looked liked threatening from anywhere but within out ten meter line. they lead super league for tries scored in the red zone. due to our kicking game and poor discipline we allowed them this field position, and for them to attack in the area they are pretty much unstoppable. ( and we gave it a good effort). would there pack of been so dominate having to play out of their own twenty all game. no. unfotunately they were playing from their 40 every set due to our kicking.

| Wire should have won by 30 points. Only one team played any rugby.

| wire deserved the win.
they played like a typical tony smith team. agressive, committed, high work rate, low error, and 'in yer face' defence.
our only creativity was from kicks.
1 offload in the first 40 ?????? that says it all really. why, after last weeks 'effort' did we see fit to keep the same tactics ????
well done tony smith. he hascertainly turned their season around. i thought their pack and king were excellent.
for us - sam needs to be used off the bench, which would also allow us to move tommy to 9.

correct, once again nobles tactics were all wrong, if we had a great kicking game it would be fine to kick on the third, but we obviously don't so why keep doing it.

| The reason you lost was because you had the majority of possession and only scored one try. In that first half in particular you should have been out of sight. I would also say that you need a quality stand off to partner Leuluai because no one else looks capable of creating anything.

| Too much ill disipline the way fielden behaved after he gave that penalty and the try they scored from it was very poor from a professional rugby league player it was like something from another sport.

| Anyone know what the penalty count was?
We just didn't create anything at all. Sam T never took on their line. Two steps one way and pass it, two steps the other way and pass it.
Was he under instructions not to take on their defence? It looked like it!
Leuluai & Lockers tried their hearts out but that's all we were, triers.
Wire were not much better, big pack made ground on the back of plenty penalties in their favour. Their two 2nd half trys came from sets following a pen.
As the away team you always know that the ref we be on your case to keep the crowd quite and off their back. We should have been more than aware of that and played accordingly.
All in all we are just not good enough. That Wire are below us in the league shows the state of where we both are.
Next week we should beat Salford.
Wire haven't a prayer against HKR at Craven Park.

11-4 in Wolves' favor.
Just in the 2nd half they had the advantage of 8-1. Thaler is tosh.

It was not aimed at you, more at the second post, saying it was down to the pack, there was more than just this contributing to our loss, much of which is explained in your post actually.
