| going straight on general sale?
so no advantage in having a season ticket?
on the other hand, the ones who didnt turn up tonight, and previous rounds, dont deserve priority.
voucher system anyone?

Why would there need to be (on this occasion)?
LSV holds around 14,500, minimal away support, live on TV. Plenty room to go around.

the reason given for going straight on general sale is the "quick turnaround"..had we drawn Wire the turnaround would be just as quick? and tickets more in demand?

Had it have been Wire I think tickets would have gone to ST holders first, however, it's not and nobody will have issues buying tickets for this game

I'd hazard that £18 for behind the sticks would tell you where most of us will be

I'd say paying for all home league games (attended or not) will always mean season ticket holders deserve their privileges. Without season ticket sales the club would be up the creek.
Vouchers would IMO be a good way to reduce season ticket sales and would be seen as kind of confrontational and judgemental when no one knows why people can't turn up for some games especially ones on a stupid night of the week. It doesn't take much to make season tickets not great value for money as it is and so I am sure a big motivator for buying one are the added value they offer such as keeping your seat and getting priority for finals tickets. Take that away and I really do think more people would give up the season tickets and you'd get 6.5K on v Widnes for league games never mind the cup.

| I can certainly see why the club just went straight to general sale. The ground is unreserved (so no need to give STHs access to the 'best' seats), it probably won't sell out (which is incredibly sad for a cup semi final, but that's something for the RFL to sort out) and there is less than two weeks to sell the tickets (agiain, we only need to look to the RFLs crazy scheduling).
I still think STs offer value for money. 10% off your shirt and half price magic tickets is a great benefit and if I lived closer to Wigan, the chance to go to the academy games for nowt is an offer I would definitely take up.

| I still think season ticket holders shuold at least get a short priority window even if it's a token gesture. Every chepaskate (like me) is going to want a ticket for the terrace. However I doubt there will be a mass rush so should be ok but that's not the point, it should be more or less guaranteed.
