I hope the lads train with these guys again in the pre-season.

People talk about players getting fatigue towards the end of the season and getting tired playing two games in a week... rubbish! These marines do all that and more with less sleep and rest!

dont know about man for man but deffo the best regiments ie parachute regiment , royal marine commandos SAS and the ghurkhas

my son is a royal marine and last year spent 7 months in sangin, afghan probably one of the worst places in the world.
you wouldn't believe some of the videos he brought back home taken from their helmet cams, the minute they set foor out of their patrol base they get hammered with bullets coming from people they can't see. spending 7 months watching lads being brought back to wooton bassett and dreading your doorbell ringing in case someone is at your door in uniform. all that for 16k a year, they certainly don't do it for the money.whether they are the best at what they do is irrelevant they all do a great job, and puts things in perspective at the little things that bother us.
