| This isn't meant to be in bad taste, but surely as a professional foul that wasn't punished by sin-bin or sending off, he should have faced the RFL tonight?
And if he HAD received a ban for deliberately taking out another player off the ball, would he have to serve that once he was fit following injury?
Please note, I'm not saying he SHOULD, I'm just throwing open the logical question, it was a professional foul which should be punished by a minimum of a sin-binning. The fact that he hurt himself in the process, no matter how badly, is irrelevant.
If you want to put it another way, if Hock had happened to suffer an injury just prior to receiving a ban for 2 years, should his ban start immediately or should it start after he recovered from the injury that would have kept him out anyway?

| It's not something I'm worried about. More something I thought about.

| I may be wrong, but because Uncle Albert gave the pen for the Donald tackle and not the McGuire pull then were the RFL not able to review it? I don't think he placed it on report either. Buderus has a game ban though.

| Maybe, just maybe, they thought that 8 months out was sufficient punishment

| There was nothing for McGuire to be cited for at all really. No one gets cited for lying on in the tackle to slow the game down and no one gets cited for holding a player back. Same sort of offence really.

dont think it would work to be honest , you would probably just see lots more people in the sin bins , although 3 yellow cards in a season resulting in a 2 game ban might help, but citing people for it isnt the answer.
The bans however start from the moment your found guilty , so a non event .

Pretty sure the RFL can call any incident they like, as well as considering any incident a coach raises.
The referee's "on report" is just their way of telling the RFL they think it deserves a review.

No, but they get sin-binned or sent off for it. And any incident involving a card is reviewed as well, although most seem to be for repeated foul play by a team rather than an individual incident.

| I don't think it needs to be cited.
Even though he took the player out, it wasn't dangerous. Should have been a yellow card, but then again Joel probably deserved one too.

| Never going to be cited.
The bigger joke is that is lists Leuluai as if they've taken McLennans request seriously.

| If a player gets a ban it doesnt only apply when they are fit so there wasnt much point. It wasnt even worthy anyway, its not like he did anything dangerous.

| Kev Browns flying ankle tap on Tomkins a few weeks back was far worse then McGuires but it didn't mean as much because it wasn't a play off game. He didn't get a ticking off and nor should McGuire.
McGuire has sadly got a far worse punishment then a fine and a slap on the wrists.

| You can't start citing people for non-violent tactics, no matter how blatant or against the rules. Otherwise for consistency's sake you'd have to cite nearly every player after every game.
