Personally, I think we switched off against what the players (and fans) expected to be opposition that would roll over and let us score at will.

They weren't "shattered", they just expected far less opposition than they got (and fair play to Sheffield for that).

If a somewhat-less-convincing-than-it-should=have-been win against Sheffield (although we still scored a half-century) is notice of our terminal decline for the season, then what was our loss at Bradford?

I seem to recall people stating then that our season was effectively over (even though we were - and are - still top of the table).

Look - At the end of the day (and whilst MM and SW wouldn't agree with this) - We did enough to get in to the hat for tomorrow's draw.
We didn't get out of second gear, but realistically, we didn't have to.

Our defence wasn't up to it today. However - I challenge you to show me the SuperLeague team that has done was Sheffield did (score-wise).

I have absolutely no doubt that extra defensive sessions will have been "earned" by the team today (quite possibly starting tomorrow), and that MM/SW will not allow them to forget what happens when you switch off (same as we did against Bradford, when we assumed that we'd already won).

If you're genuine - Stop worrying and calm down. In MM we trust.

I've just written in my match report, this will sharpen our efforts on Friday, which is a good thing. Quins could have been a banana skin had we won 70-0 or whatever today. I don't think it will be now.

Its better to have a bad game today where we can still grind out the win rather than on another day against a more dangerous side. Its a blip but its how you learn from blips and defeats that determines how good you really are.

And let's not get away from the fact this wasn't a scrape through victory. We were always in control of the tie. Little things were disappointing, not the big things!

We will probably have snipers on here for a few days taking the because we didnt batter Sheffield. Lets put things in perspective though, anybody who draws us in the next round will a brick. Nobody will fancy playing us end of story.

Absolutely nothing! They were told to throw the ball around and try new things and it showed. Add to that we completely switched off and knew we had the game won before we stepped on to the pitch.

Were through to the next round and thats all that matters. This will give the players a kick up the backside for next week!

Unfortunately it's the 'little things' that kill a team when they let them slide.As for 'a kick up the backside' YES they REALLY deserve that.MM took a full strength side to send a message.Not only to future opponents,but to the players as well.
