| Is starting to look the real deal, after a few years of inconsistency. Always been a grafter, likes to get stuck in but at times has lost his way a little. Added a decent kicking game and looks to have mellowed. When he burst onto the seen with you lot he was getting alot of hype, what happened? Why did his career with Wigan end so abruptly?

| Was a mixture of him getting abit too cocky for his own good and fans getting on his back because he wasnt living up to his hype. Good luck to him I say, its a shame it didnt work out at Wigan for him, personally i'd rather have Tomkins at 6 so im glad things have worked out the way the have, best for all partys!

Brain farts, bad defence and delusions of grandeur. I always preffered him at centre to be honest, a bit too volatile for a stand off, especially when combined with Dennis Moran (see 75-0 for further details) but he was very good at getting his winger in space, he sparked a very good partnership with Brett Dallas in 2004 IIRC.

| Never had a problem with Brown myself. He scored tries at a good rate in a team that often struggled.
The truth about many youngsters from Brown's era at Wigan wasn't that they wern't good enough, it was that we put far too many of them in the team, far too early whilst buying crap experienced players. I mean personally I'd take Kevin Brown over Dennis Moran, Danny Orr or David Vaealiki!
Having said that I didn't exactly mourn the loss of him. Not a half back for me ever.

| Ian Millward ruined him. He put to much pressure on him in the media by saying how good he was going to be whilst ruining his, and many other players, confidence in training.

| Milward broke Kevin Brown.
Yes he was part of the heavy defeats, but those defeats were more of a protest by the team against Milward, the same team that went from relegation to just shy of a play-off place. The change in team form tells me the bad coach was the issue, not individual players.

| IIRC, his last game for Wigan was for the reserves when he got sent off in a game that was played at Ince Rose Bridge.
I think Brown moving to Huddersfield was the best move all round for everybody concerned. IMO, Brown hadn't, hasn't and will never have what it takes or that X-factor to take us to the next level. Instead, he has joined a good, well drilled side without the pressure of playing for a big club and that seems to suit him right down to the ground and will allow him to develop into a better player.

Because he is nothing more than average, and never will be.

We've already had that last season after losing him for the rest of the season at Wembley.

| There will always be Wigan fans who will never regard Kevin Brown as anything more than trash, because he is strongly associated with a trash Wigan era.
When he first came on the scene, he had a reputation for being a schoolboy sensation. We've all heard that before, of course, but supposedly he trained very hard and had his feet planted firmly on the ground. At a time when we were poorly coached, and seemed to be shedding all our young talent, everyone expected him to be a light in the black. But unfortunately, all we saw from him on match days was idiocy after idiocy. He scored quite a few tries, but my main memories are knock-ons, passes into touch, woefully timed mistackles, etc.
I'll give you an example of how bad it was. One day, we'd been licked yet again and had suffered a shedload of injuries. We were all in the pub after the match, in a state of depression. Someone said: "Who's back from injury next?" Someone else answered: "Kevin Brown - next week." And there were groans of genuine despair. That's how low we'd sunk.
If Brown's doing well at Hudds, then I'm glad. It's a pity it's taken this long for him to get going. But I blame the then-coaching staff at Wigan for that, rather than him. He was pitched in far too early, with a weight of responsbility on his shoulders that was ridiculous for a lad of his age and inexperience.

Isn't he a St Helens lad? Or is that what you meant?!
