Start of a downward spiral for him. Remember what happened to Ainscough for us when he had a couple of poor defensive displays? Same with Kevin Penny at wire.

Couldn't think of a more deserved person to lose his place. His attitude stinks. Some of the responses he has given to myself and fellow fans on twitter are disgraceful and if it was a premier league footballer they would be in trouble with the FA. He thinks he is some superstar now because the locals of St Helens thought he was brilliant last season. Now he's being found out and I for one get great satisfaction from it. His piece on the super league show a few weeks ago about how he was a Wigan fan etc didn't mean jack, he'd get nowhere near our starting side.

I can. Scoring me loads of fantasy rugby points with his kicking, while at the same time being a complete and utter liability to Stains.

This will be the making of him. If he does what I expect (based on his cockyness that noone can dispute) then he doesnt train properly on his defense coz he thinks he knows it all (My assumption NOT FACT Saints fans). And I think him being dropped will make him see he isnt as good as he thought he was and it will make him work at it. He hasnt got the same attitude as Ainscough and I'd say he has more natural ability he will be a good player IF he puts the work in. If he lets this do what it did to Ainscough and Penny then rightly so it will be the beginning of a downward spiral. Doubt saints will allow that to happen though personally.

Phew got my team changed just in time, foster out, makinson in, a few changes elsewhere and enough cash left over for Brough to come in to half back. Result for my fantasy team, 2 kickers now instead of 1.

As for the real world. It had to be done. Foster has defensively had a downward movement in his game over the last 6 months or so. Attacking wise his try scoring was pretty decent, but defensively and under bombs his head seamed to have gone.
Also of Saints fans where calling for this, a few weeks in the reserves, get his head right, he was fine defensively for about 12 months, no idea why he fell off the wagon, but nothing like penny, penny had no skill just speed and no training in the world could compensate for that.

Makinsons a much better player anyway from what I've seen

Makinson is very good, but people have the wrong idea of foster too. He gets the ball down and that's the final measure of a winger. He may not have been the fastest, but speed is not enough alone, just as kicking is not enough alone if you can't defend.
